If the item is cheaply priced, that's your first red flag. Then you might check the seller and his or her ratings and comments. If people rate the seller low, then another red flag goes up. Also, look at the descriptions of the item that the seeler gives. Amazon doesn't allow sellers to post their own images of the products, so you have to rely on what they say about it. If there is no product summary, then steer clear of it. If they use really good words, type all in caps, or use thousands of exclamation points, then also steer clear.
If you're looking for OOP Disney films, look to the end of the list at the expensive items. Only a person who doesn't know what he's selling would price a good condition OOP Disney film lowly, and only once in a million would you find that person.
But, in any case, how do you know your DVD is bootleg? Because if it looks like the real thing and plays like the real thing, what's the big deal? You got your movie, so what?

I've gotten alot off there within the last couple of weeks and I've gotten really good copies and one import edition that I wasn't expecting. You've got the read the fine print, e-mail the seller and ask specifics.
BTW expect to pay at least thirty for a decent copy of the BatB release. I've been searching for a cheaper one on there without much help.

I paid 30 for my BatB. The front cover was very dark, the label on the disks were vey fuzzy, the insert was not the right one, and it also froze in the middle! (My grandmother has the "real" one, so i compaired) I e-mailed the guy and told him about it. I knew it was a bootleg when i opened it, it would not have been a big deal, if it didn't freeze in the middle! But we got it all wokrd out. I just don't want to buy off e-bay anymore! I will either find them used, or wait until they come back out!!
I'm just a little "weiry" if you will.... to purchase from amazon.com or e-bay

I guess I can consider myself lucky that I found a copy of Snow White at FYE a few years ago and a copy of Beauty and the Beast at the Disney Store around the same time.
Actually my sister just got some boot-leg DVDs off of eBay recently. Fortunately they played fine and they were a couple of "rare" movies so it wasn't a big deal to her. Me, on the other hand, I like everything to be official (which is why when my one friend offers to burn movies for me I say no

But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

Don't forget to check out (surprisingly enough) video game stores like EB Games! I found a copy of the Sleeping Beauty 2-disc set used for 15 bucks in very good condition. I was very happy let me tell you
