Who here has seen Kill Bill and what did you think???

Post by kinghlywd »

I saw Kill Bill not too long ago and I loved it! The movie was "breathtaking", (I like to steal lines from Seinfeld whenever I can.) If you haven't gone to see it, I strongly recommend it! I want to hear your thoughs on it.

Have not seen it and I'm not sure if I will until the DVD release.
It just doesn't look that good to me, although I loved Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs.

I have seen it, but I want to reserve comment until I have seen the "whole" film.
Really, although it is being released as two films, it was made as one, and intended to be 1.
I like what I have seen so far (that is an understatement, I thought what I have seen thus far is fanbloodytastic). However, I have to wonder if QT would have edited the film differently (as in the order of sequences) if he had not had to show the film in 2 parts.
Now we have a big climactic fight sequence, and the obligatory cliffhanger with the knowledge there will be a part 2. Would we have had all the info we have now if it had been one film, or would QT have given the information out in a different order? I love everything QT has put out, but was there REALLY nothing he could have cut out?Guess we'll never know...
Mind you, it's his film - he can cut/not cut anything he wants to...

Despite all that (and a few minor plot holes), I do very much look forward to Vol 2 in February. Hopefully a DVD version will show us his "original" vision as one film.

At any rate, so far so good (and I'm seeing it again tomorrow night :P).

As a confession I have seen the movie (technically the first half of the movie) three times. I loved it that much. I can't wait for a DVD release! If they release Vol. 1 first, then I will surely buy it the first day and buy Vol. 2 later. I will only get a 2-pack if it comes out first or is the only one available, because I really don't think I' be able to wait if Vol. 1 comes out first.
What would this wretched world be like without Disney?

I know in Australia, Volume 1 is coming out to rent on DVD at the end of Feb (I guess to coincide with Vol 2 coming out in cinemas).
Hopefully the sell-through will be of both...or have the option of viewing them "theatrically" or "as one whole film".

I might rent the DVD. It's supposed to be out on 2004 - February 3.
