I don't have it but I really want to check it out. I have a Nintendo DS so maybe I'll pick it up and check it out sometime. I'm cheap so I'll look for it to go on sale. :)

Which Little Mermaid Game?

Post by Disney Duster »

Which one? There's Ariel's Undersea Adventure for the DS specifically, and then there's Magic in Two Kingdoms for both the DS and Gameboy Advance. Personally, I wasn't interested in Ariel's Undersea Adventure because it doesn't follow the movie and it doesn't even have Ursula (except her tentacles...?) There was a very revealing, detailed review of it on Amazon.com. But I do want Magic in Two Kingdoms and I think I'll ask for it for Christmas.

Man all this talk about the new Little Mermaid video game is bringing back memories of the old video game for original Nintendo. Going around collection forks and pipes. I have to say, that game was pretty awesome. As was the Aladdin game for Super Nintendo. The classics are always the best!!

Disney Duster, there is an old NES game called "The Little Mermaid". It was made by Capcom. Capcom is the company that produced the "Mega Man" and "Resident Evil" series. During Capcom's heyday, they had a slew of NES games based on Disney films and TV shows like "Duck Tales", "Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers", "Mickey Mousecapade", "Adventures In the Magic Kingdom" and "The Little Mermaid". There are a few NES games inspired by Disney could be found on this site:

You should check it out, they have a few Disney NES games produced by Capcom. I have "Duck Tales" the NES game, I don't have "The Little Mermaid" NES game. You should try it. The selection of games is on the left side if you see "The Little Mermaid", get it and start playing. Good luck!

Thank you, musicradio77, but I have a MAC computer, and it doesn't run wth Windows, so I can't download the software to play! Those games look cool though. I wish I had "Duck Tales" and "The Little Mermaid"...and also probably "Aladdin".

But what was "Adventures in the Magic Kingdom" about? Like visiting the theme park?

musicradio77 thanks for the post. My knowing about that website might not be such a good thing as I have been playing the NES Little Mermaid game for about the last 45 minutes now. Ha ha. I can feel the nostalgia. The Duck Tales and Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers games are great too, those were my favorites as a kid. Classic NES games, I love `em!! :D

Were there any cheat codes or anything for the Little Mermaid NES game? I got it a about a year ago at Savers for $3. I'm not so good at videogames so I found it kinda repetitive to keep dying and have to start all over. Is there a way to skip levels so I can check out the parts I haven't been to yet? Or even some kind of save/password feature?
Thanks.

None that I know of, but then again, I don't know much about stuff like that in general so I'm probably not the one to ask.

Not on the VNES website, never. I remember the cheat codes on many NES games. By the way, there is also another NES game based on the classic Disney characters like Mickey & Minnie Mouse entitled "Mickey's Mouscapade". I haven't played it since I was a youngster, but I played it now.
