DMC slower than a seven year itch
So today, I FINALLY got a notice that my Silly Symphonies that I ordered on the 3rd has shipped. Anyone else notice a lag in recent orders being shipped? The excuse I was given when I called the first time was that they were having trouble filling all the orders since it was the holiday season (a little bit early, but ok) and then yesterday when I called I was told that my DVD was waiting at the warehouse no one had just gotten around to actually putting it in the mail yet. Ugh, anyone else have problems lately?

Normal shipping is 7-10 business days, but your first order can take up to four weeks. If its just a regular order I would call DMC soon and ask what is up, see if they can trace it.Willsmama wrote:After the order is processed, is it normal for shipping to take a long time? I received a notice that my order shipped on Oct. 12 and I still haven't received it.

You may want to call and make sure it actually was shipped. I had my card charged and was sent a shipping notice once and the package just sat in the warehouse for a full month before it was really shipped. Watch out for that. I have had really slow and terrible shipping with the DMC with almost every order I have placed.

I received my initial order yesterday, 11/4, and they shipped it 10/26- I was very lucky to get it so quick. I still have 3 more orders to come in the mail, so hopefully they'll come as quickly.
It stinks that so many of you are having problems getting your movies. I wonder if sometimes it's not DMC's fault, but the post office (obviously sometimes it's DMC's fault)...

I have a question about the DMC sending return labels. I've waiting a long time to get mine, and it still hasn't come. Should I just write "Refused- Return to Sender" on the box and be done with it?
How long do they give you- I read that you have 60 days from when you ordered to get a refund...I wrote on my slip of paper that I want to pay the extra $2 and get a different title...if they can just take it out of the account I have on file. Because I'm not looking for a refund, will they give me a while longer? It's not my fault that they haven't sent me my return sticker, even though I asked them to twice. The DVD I'm sending back is opened, since I didn't know that it was broken until I opened it...what am I to do?

I got 2 emails- one being a confirmation, and one being a shipping notice, Dec. 21 & 22. I don't have it still in my email box if I got one, so I don't remember if I got one for the second time I asked for a return label. I should probably call them again. It was at least a week and a half ago, if not 2 weeks that I asked for another label. They really don't want me to return a movie. Do you think that I'm not getting them because in their computer, it says that I haven't bought any movies within a certain time frame to allow me to get a return label? If I write "refused- return to sender" on it, as long as the slip is inside, will they credit my account/give me the alternate selection I want?Willsmama wrote:Have you gotten an email saying your order has been processed--even though your order is only a return label? I had to return a dvd when they sent me the wrong title. I received an email that my order was being shipped and I got my label 3 or 4 days later.

According to US postal regulations, the only way you can use "refused - return to sender" is if the package is unopened, as received. Once the package is opened, and I'm assuming you have since you checked the DVDs for damage, then you have two choices:blackcauldron85 wrote:If I write "refused- return to sender" on it, as long as the slip is inside, will they credit my account/give me the alternate selection I want?
1. Wait for the DMC to send you a postage paid return label.
2. Pay the postage to send it back to DMC yourself.
I would probably give the DMC a call again, because I doubt the DMC will reimburse you for the postage if you pay for it yourself.

Thanks, Doctor. I'll have to call them back anyway. I never had ordered online from them before (always on the phone), and, since I'm a VIP member now, I had a buy-one-get-one-free-with-no-shipping-charges deal, and I was excited, so I ordered online. I printed out my receipt, but didn't get an email response. I'll call, and they'll have no proof that I ordered, and I'll have to fax them my receipt or something (I had problems when I first joined and had to join again). I wish I waited to order on the phone...I like the DMC, but sometimes it's too much of a headache...But, (off topic) I looked into my Cheerios just now and there are 3 in a Mickey shape...
*edit* I just called- there was a "bad address hold" on my account- twice mail they sent to me got returned to them as "undeliverable"- I knew that my zip code was wrong in their system, but I didn't know it had affected anything, but it did, so I'll be getting my movies I just ordered as well as my return label. Yay!

In December, I called the DMC about getting a return label. I never got one. In January, I called about getting a return label. I never got one. Later that month, I called the DMC and asked them what was up- I had a hold on my address now - those 2 cards were undeliverable at my address, which is weird, since I haven't moved since I've been a member. I finally got my label, and I thought that I would be alright from then on. But, the money from my order on 1/28/06 hadn't been taken out yet, so I called I think last week, and she said there's still a hold. So, she took the hold off of my account (again), and I JUST got a confirmation email yesterday about my order being shipped. It'll be a month tomorrow since I ordered my movies. I ordered a replacement DVD, and I wonder if I have to call to get that shipped to me as well.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought shipping from DMC was ridiculous! Seriously, Disney is a HUGE name and company and they take this long to ship? There is no excuse! There are mom and pop shops out there that are much faster than this!
Hopefully they will get their stuff together soon and we can all enjoy faster shipping times.
