Disc Replacement Question

Post by thegame24 »

How long does it usually take to get your replacement discs and has anyone ever used certified mail to do this? Thanks

It can vary, I believe, especially depending what studio you're dealing with. I'll assume you're asking about Disney specifically, though... I've only ever needed 1 replacement disc from them, and I got the new one no more than a month (probably closer to 3 weeks) after mailing them the defective one. That's not to say it'll always get there in that time, though. I'm in Canada, so I judged their response time to be fairly good considering I mailed the original to an address in the states, and the postmark on the new disc's envelope indicated it also came from down south.

wow! Does that include discs that are too scratched to play? My 2 yr old ruined several of my discs (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and other non Disney ones)...how does it work and what does it cost?

You know I once had a disc replaced by them and they didn't charge me anything? And they sent it to me in the UK!

Disc Replacement

Post by Mr.Mipps »

I had a bad Swamp Fox disc. I called the Disney 800 number on the DVD and after answering the customer service questions they agreed to let me return it. They mailed me a postage paid return label, which I received in two days. (They said it might take two weeks.) I had to mail them back both the Swamp Fox and Elfego Baca DVDs in the plastic case but not the collector tin or numbered certificate insert.

I mailed the package and received my replacement set in about six days.

Besides the added expense, Registered Mail might actually slow down the return process. If you want proof that you sent the package back, in case it gets lost, the cash register receipt you get at the Post Office should show the city, state and zipcode of the package you sent. If you use the postage paid return label you may have to ask for the receipt.

OR maybe they're just recalling that movie all together?
