As many of you know, my best friend is currently serving in the US Army in Iraq. In one of his emails to me he mentioned the absolutely deplorable conditions that the children of Iraq are living in. They are hungry, thirsty, terrified, and in many cases all alone in the world and they are children. I am in the process of sending a bunch of bears to him to pass out to these kids. Problem is that there are still thousands of children who would love to have a bear of their very own. In many cases, these kids have no toys whatsoever, so a teddy bear would mean the world to them. No matter what problems you may have with the Iraqi government and certain facets of their people, there is no reason in the world that these children should live under these conditions.
I wanted to ask if each and every one of you who reads this would be willing to send a bear or two (or 50) to Iraq, so that these kids can have at least a little bit of happiness in their lives. Any size bear (and any amount) would be greatly appreciated. Please look deep in your heart, put politics aside, and think about these children, who have absolutely nothing.
The bears can be sent to:
CPT Matt Bowen
2BN, 1BDE, 3Div, MITT
Al Kisik, Iraq
APO AE 09334
Now, if you want to help, but don't want to deal with sending a bear, I am collecting money that will be used to buy bears and send them to Matt. If are willing to help in that way, please send me an email (tominnc@elvis) and I will give you my Paypal or contact information.
Thank you all so very much for your time, energy, and generosity. You truly can make a difference in the life of a child.
