Disney Princesses: Who is your favorite!?
Hi there!
When you watch some of Disney's classics, you notice that several of the princesses have different personalities. Some are smart, some are more sympathetic, and some are more dreamy. The purpose of this thread is to talk about what you think of them. Who is your least favorite princess? Who is your favorite princess? And please say why. It would be kinda dull for everyone to just say, "I dont like her, but I like her." Thanks a lot.

I LOVE ARIEL!!!!!!!!! She is my FAVORITE ever... shes ADORABLE, shes funny, shes smart, she doesnt want to do what is expected of her, she wants more than that. She wants to explore and see and learn as much as possible and she is willing to make sacrifices to persue her dreams.
The princess I absolutely despise is Aurora (Awhorea as I like to call her
). she does NOTHING!! shes a lazy f*** who just sleeps! and I know it was a curse and blah blah blah, but shes just an idiot. I feel sorry for Phillip for getting such a worthless wife

ARIEL of course! She's the best animated heroine ever!
I also admire Megara for being so strong, hilarious and independent. And she's very beautiful too!
I very much like Kida too, because she's diferrent (white hair, tatoo), smart, sexy, independent, defender of a whole empire and her mission is really important; by being turned into a crystal princess she's got to save one of the greatest mythical cities ever; Atlantis!

wow I never knew anyone who hated a Disney Princess that much, thats kinda harsh considering she barley say's or does anything in the entire movie she doesnt really do anything to make anyone hate her she's not my favorite but I dont mind her, she actually reminds me of holly madison the playboy model from the girls next door. But I guess everyone has an opinion.

Re: Disney Princesses: Who is your favorite!?
Just wanted to point out that this is the part of the thread that will keep it in General Discussion. Sans discussion, it will just get moved into Polls & Games. I definitely feel there is room to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the ladies, so I just wanted to remind people not to simply give a 1-5 word reply so that this doesn't become a padding thread.disneyfreek wrote:And please say why. Proceed!

Okay I guess Ill say why I like Ariel best
Because I like her personality a lot, she has an open mind to find out about another world. She's different from the other mer people of Atlantica that seem so locked to there under sea realm. Plus she has a great singing voice..but then again all the Disney Princesses sing really good. and I really like Ariel's animation..her hair and body movements were really cool under water.

Belle is my favorite followed VERY closely by Cinderella. I love how Belle has more brains than most Disney heroines. She's witty and clever and is even a little arrogant, which helps dimensionalize her character. She has character flaws, mainly in how nosey she is. Belle seems to recognize her flaws, though, and is humble enough to admit when she's screwed up. She's also the type of person who doesn't just sit around wondering what to do. Instead, she's active and out of all of the Disney princesses, is probably the most influential to those around her. The Beast absolutely needed her. Without her, he and all of his servants would've been doomed. You can't really say the same thing for the others. If they never existed, the fates of their friends and loved ones wouldn't have been so bad, just less fulfilling. Belle's probably the most important Disney heroine to her respective story alongside Pocahontas, Esmeralda, and Mulan.
Cinderella, on the other hand, is somewhat different from Belle. Cinderella isn't active or, dare I say, as important to her story as Belle is, but she's much stronger than most people give her credit for. People who keep labelling Cindy as a weepy, subservient weakling more than likely have not seen the film in a long time. She's got some cheekiness and spunk about her. If Snow White were put into Cindy's situation (which she sort of was, but not to that extent), all she would do is cry and sigh. If Aurora were put into that situtation, she would simply fail to respond and live her life fairly blankly. Cinderella, though, is optimistic. She isn't actively going out to change her life because she knows things will get better. Her attitude and occasional eye rolling help her from being cloying like Snow White. She complains, but only to herself and puts on a brave face for others. Her home life is the darkest and most depressing of the Disney princesses, and yet she makes the best of her situtation rather than moping about it.

Thanks Luke for clearing that up.
I now feel really bad cause I was the person that started the thread, and I didn't even say who I like or didnt like. My favorite is probably Belle. She is well read, witty, and sympathetic. She isn't like a little girl, like Snow White, who is scared of everything, and she isn't spoiled. She is an independent, grown woman and is always ready to face her fears. Her major downside is her curiosity, but I am very curious at times, so I can relate.
The princess I didnt like that much is Snow White and Jasmine. Snow White is very childish and ditzy. Not smart, not cute, and not someone I would want to marry. Nevertheless, she was the perfect Snow White for the movie.
And please everybody, say which princess you dont like that much. If you like them all, then just say something like, "I cant really say I dont like one of them because I LOVE THEM ALL!" Thanks again.

I always liked Belle the best. Mainly because she was willing to trade her freedom for her father's freedom. I also like that she isn't afraid to speak her mind, she's compassionate, and she is intelligent.
Well said Disneykid, you have said it much better than I can.Disneykid wrote: She has character flaws, mainly in how nosey she is. Disney Duster's favorite Disney Princess is Cinderella(duh)!
My favorite Disney princess is Cinderella. A lot of people don't like her because they say she always hopes and dreams of a better life instead of actually doing something about it, and she always dreams about a man she needs to save her.
It's true that Cinderella really didn't do anything to save her on her own, without the help of animals, a fairy godmother, or a shoe, but she did fight a little(ensuring the stepmother gave her a chance to attend the ball, telling the birds to get Bruno so Lucifer would let go of the mice with the key to her room). As for the prince, he didn't really do any rescuing in my opinion, and Cinderella never said she dreamed about a man. She only said she wanted to attend a ball. Her line, "What's a royal ball? I'm sure it would be frightfully dull, and boring, and completely...completely wonderful" mentions no prince. And when she finally gets to meet the prince, she runs away from him! She's not boy crazy.
So she isn't the best role-model for girls, and I think that the film should actually be viewed when children can understand they need to do things on their own, but Cinderella is my favorite Disney princess because of her spunk(evident in her line "Oh that clock! Even he orders me around!", and her revealing of the other glass slipper to her shocked stepmother), her optimism, her kindness, and her design. I just like the way the character feels. Her voice, her movements, and her looks are just my favorite out of any other princess. She does this thing with the way she crosses her feet as she walks, and as Andreas Deja mentioned, she almost whispers sometimes. Plus, her remarks about Lucifer("...your Majesty!") and her stepsisters("...the music lesson") show some wit. She's also cool. She keeps her cool even when times are bad.
The princess I like least might be Snow White, because her attitude towards the seven dwarfs is sometimes too emasculating and it's almost gross. And she's too cutesy all the time. She reminds me of a grandmother, which makes sense because some of today's grandmothers lived in the times Snow White was made, right? But her immense innocence and kindess to everyone was needed to feel the power of purity dying when she ate the poisened apple.

I don't judge on the looks. I'm more on the personality. My favorite Disney princess would be Mulan. She has a simple beauty that shines with her personality. I consider her as a princess not literally, but based on her two films.
I like her because I think she's the most active Disney princess up to now. Much braver than the so-called courageous Pocahontas, she took the risk of replacing her father in the imperial Army even though this would mean danger. She loved her family especially her father so much that she doesn't care about herself. Her selfless love earned her my admiration. Aside from that, she has many characteristics that most Disney princesses don't have. She's also clever and adventurous and how can I forget that she's such a great actress? Pretending to be someone they're not is tough...lol.
She's not only a princess, she's a heroine too! She saved her father, defeated the Huns, and most of all, she saved China! What more can you get? She never gave up in her goal to bring honor to her family. Although she haven't impressed the matchmaker, she brought not only honor and gifts to her family but also peace and unity to China. And as the Emperor said, "You don't meet a girl like that every dynasty."
Sorry Walt Disney! But my least favorite Disney princess is none other than Snow White. I just can't stand her. Her passive personality, her voice, everything! Although I love Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, I don't like how Snow White turned out to be. It's too err....childish.

I love Ariel and Jasmine!!!

I'd have to say Belle because she did what was right for her and her family. She didn't ask much and she wasn't glamorous. What I like the most is that she was patient with the Beast and found the real person inside.
I haven't seen Little Mermaid in such a long time! I saw parts of it in French though.

If we're going by personality I'd say Belle, Ariel and Cinderella in that order. Wouldn't be the order of how much I like the movies they are in, but it's in terms of their actual characters.
I agree that Snow White would have to be my least favorite. Just couldn't stand her personality. I like the independence of Ariel and the work ethic/caring aspects of Belle.
