The Truth About the Church of Scientology?

Post by Just Myself »

I'm not sure how many people frequent You're the Man Now Dog(ytmnd.com), but if you don't, basically what it is is a collection of flash or still images with a sound clip over it that usually makes one laugh giddily. But having gone there for the first time in about a month, I saw this, The Un-Funny Truth of Scientology(WARNING: Contains very disturbing images) and also, more recently, The Un-Funny SEQUEL About Scientology, which is more of a follow-up to the repsonse of what has happened. If anything, ANYTHING, mentioned in these YTMND's are true, I commend the user who created them and hope that more people will learn the truth.

This reminds me of the South Park episode "Trapped in the Closet", a rather funny episode and (from my memory at least) not as rude in terms of sexuality and violence as most South Park episodes, so it's worth checking out if you can.

I don't go on YTMND that often, but I did see this via a link on an IMDb message board. I really don't want to be seen as a complete hater of any particular religion and its followers (for the record, I'm a semi-lapsed Catholic going to Church at regular intervals, though not every week), as that would in some respects make me as bad as many of the terrorists in the Middle East or equally some of the far-right Conservatives in the Western World. Plus, many Scientologist celebreties are favourites of mine (Jason Lee and Nancy Cartwright stand out in my mind). However, from what I've read and heard, I am really disgusted by the authorities in this particular religion. I know that there's going to be corruption/hate anywhere in any religion, including Christianity (although this is a very old example that I truly doubt any Christians these days follow, many people justified the slavery trade in the 18th and 19th centuries since black people weren't mentioned in any way shape or form in the Bible and therefore were supposedly ignored), but the level of corruption in Scientology is pretty bad; I really don't like how it's an exclusive subscription religion and also how it's back story could provoke hatred of other religions in some (though the rules of any religion could do this).

I hope this post isn't too offensive, so don't hurt me anybody.

I'm not saying I'm a full out hater either, it's just the very thought of anything on that site being true scares the bejesus out of me.

Oh - when it all comes down to the marrow, the gritty... won't they all just say it's a 'new' religion, subject to a working-out-the-kinks period? Bad religion, bad, bad religion - no dessert.

The music is very frightening. I will update this as more videos come up there.
