Lilo & Stitch Series Review

Post by Maerj »

I got the chance to see several episodes this evening as Disney Channel is running a marathon. They are also showing the show every day at 4 Eastern Time.

First off, I love the opening sequence! Very fun song, but there uis this part with a bunch of singing Tikis, Stitch shouts something, then the Tikis reply. Very funny!

Each episode sort of follows a formula, as most do. As you all probably know, 625 experiments exist and one by one seem to get loose on earth. Lilo and Stitch go out to capture a different creature in each episode, usually while trying to be accepted by Myrtle and her gang of followers from the Hula School.

The animation is pretty good and they stay true to the characters from the film, which is good. The other experiments that show up in the series are all very imaginative and there is usually some funny business going on in each episode. The voices are all pretty close to their movie counterparts as well, which is great! (Some of them are the same voice actors, which is very cool!)

Now for things that I would like to see... less Myrtle! She's a good villian, but they don't need her in every episode. Also, it would be cool if they had an episode were we get to see Lilo's warped imagination take over... maybe a Lilo's dream episode?

So, this is a really good show, if you are near the tv at 4PM Eastern weekday afternoons be sure to check it out!

I saw the marathon on Disney today, too, and I liked it very much. The animation is some of the best I've seen in a Disney animated show and they've really kept the spirit of the film intact. It makes me wonder, though...625 experiments...Are they seriously planning on doing 625 episodes of this show? I see this show as being successful, but I don't think there's ever been a Disney animated series with so many episodes. Hmm, we'll just have to wait and see.

Perhaps we will get a few special episodes where there will be a hundred experiments that they catch?

I agree I thought the show was really good. Even though each episode did seem to follow the same pattern I never really got sick of it and I watched about five episodes. Now if only we could get the series on dvd, hmm....

...and what about the opening? I love the part with the funky animation of Stitch and the singing Tikis! I really love Tikis and the Polynesian culture, but as soon as I saw that part I was hooked. DVD! DVD!

I hope they start screening this out here soon...
It wont be on at least until after November, when the DVD goes on sale (for Stitch! The Movie) in R4.
Hopefully this will mean we get the series on the Disney Channel or on free-to-air not long afterwards...

I love the opening song (even though I detest Jump5), and what I really like is that even though the premise is about catching all 625 experients, the storylines aren't directly involved with that-other things happen, too.
