Walt Disney Treasures -- Disney Comics: 75 Years of Inspiration is the print tie-in to Disney's Treasures DVD series. And it celebrates the anniversary with stories like
"Race to the South Seas" by Carl Barks (March of Comics 41, 1949): Scrooge mysteriously disappears in the tropics shortly after having given boats to both Donald and lucky Gladstone. Can they use them to save him?
"Mickey Mouse Music" (1930) and "Foray to Mount Fishflake" (1934) by Floyd Gottfredson: Mickey becomes an artiste by learning the flute, then struggles to climb a deadly mountain with Horace, Goofy, and Clarabelle in tow. The first of these stories sees its first-ever reprint here; the second appears complete with panels deleted from all previous comic book printings!
"Donald's Nephews" by Ted Osborne and Al Taliaferro (1937): The historic first visit of mischievous Huey, Dewey, and Louie means disaster for Donald and his friends. The nephews' famous origin story appears complete in one book for the first time in the United States!
"His Fortune On the Rocks" by Don Rosa (Uncle Scrooge Adventures 11, 1989): When Scrooge buys historic Snee-Kah Peak from an Indian tribe, he searches it for ore with Donald and the boys -- only to meet deadly danger!
And that's not the half of it. Daan Jippes, Fred Milton, and Geoff Blum's "Sauce for the Duck" (Donald Duck 258, 1987) presents Donald as master chef. Romano Scarpa and Giorgio Cavazzano bring us Goofy and Ellsworth, "AKA Cormorant Number Twelve," foiling a jewel robbery by Pegleg Pete. Launchpad McQuack takes to the air in Gary Leach and William Van Horn's "Flights of Fancy" (DuckTales 3, 1988). Brer Rabbit is up to his old tricks down south in Paul Murry's "The Money Mint." Add in classic characters and creators like José Carioca, Gyro Gearloose, Zeke Wolf, Walt Kelly, Gil Turner, and Renato Canini and you know we're up to something big! Look forward to it -- soon!

Another great TPB, Don Rosa's "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck Companion" was also officially announced.
