Ashley Tisdale - 'Kiss the Girl' - The Little Mermaid

I just saw that Ashley Tisdale has supposedly remade The Little Mermaid's "Kiss the Girl." I would assume that this is for the Platinum release. It unfortunately did not say if it was just her or if it was the Disney Channel Circle of Stars, in the style of the Cinderella and Lion King Platinum releases. Anyway, not big news, but thought you might be interested.

I heard her say that she had completed this for the PE DVD in an interview. I'm pretty sure it's just going to be her performing it; she didn't mention anything about working with anybody else, and I'm pretty sure she would have if she did.

I'm sure she will have a music video for Kiss The Girl on the PE and the song will be featured on Disneymania 5

I don't know much about singing, but I think Kiss the Girl is a good choice for Ashley to sing because there's just a lot of whispering she has to do. So technically she doesn't have to really use her voice...unless they do an upbeat remix of it.

I hope they really do a Disney Channel Circle of Stars music video for 'Under the Sea'. Unfortunately they have to allow the Hannah Montana cast in on this one.

i just saw the video and the songs pretty good! her voice isnt the greatest but the chorus of the song sounds great!

We discussed this several weeks ago in the TLM: Platinum Edition DVD Press Release thread, but I don't think many saw it so the "news" may do better as its own topic.

I'm glad they didn't do another Circle of Stars music video for this release; there aren't many songs that could really be sung by a bunch of different actors.

Maybe "Under the Sea" could work, but it would be difficult to make a unique pop version that doesn't sound like the A*Teens cover from Disneymania. Also, "Circle of Stars" was only witty with The Lion King DVD. I don't know why they thought the name would work for Cinderella unless they were just trying to be consistent. Aladdin didn't have a Circle of Stars video, so maybe next year's Platinum will have one.

Also, I prefer Ashley Tisdale's voice over Vanessa Anne Hudgens'. I couldn't stand her solo song in HSM, but that could partly be due to the writer's fault since she was stressing the wrong syllables so it would fit with the music. Gahhh, maybe I'm just nitpicky. Another thing...I think "Kiss the Girl" saved Ashley Tisdale's music career after the nightmare that was "Someday My Prince Will Come" on Disneymania 4. It was a poor arrangement with cheesy 1950s-esque dialogue (like in that song "Oh Carol"...more like Oh brother to me). Sadly, it was the cheese that made it entertaining. Hmmm...cheese...I wonder if Loomis had listened to that song.

What happened to Raven-Symone's "Under The Sea" remake and music video? I thought it should be included on the DVD, it was great!

I think it's really fun. I think it's the best DisneyMania-esque version of the song so far. I just hope the music video is more than her just in a recording studio singing into a mic...

Haven't you seen the video? Oh yeah, you've been at camp! It's somewhere in the Little Mermaid DVD Press Release Topic somewhere. I really like the video/song. It's not just Tisdale singing into a mic, there's actually something going on in the video! It's probably the best version of the song, besides the original, of course ^_^

It sounds like it'll be good, kinda didn't like Ash's take on Someday My Prince Will Come, she had the tone/music style good but in some parts could've been good without Ash hitting a high C. By the way where did you get the song from? did Itunes release a sample?
