Everyone pretty much agrees that the picture and sound on the new Lion King DVD is top of the range and better than the LD version.

As for supplements (which you seem to be asking about on another thread) - it may or may not be true that the DVD is disappointing. It all depends on what you are looking for in the DVD. I'm sure just as some people are disappointed with the DVD supplements other people will be perfectly happy with them - and will actually prefer them to the LD.

Being as the LD was pressed and released before the Broadway Musical and spin off albums were released, the DVD actually contains supplements on these which are not discussed at all on the LD.

It would be foolish for anybody to pass on getting the Lion King DVD simply because they feel the supplements are "disappointing" - when this DVD is taken off the market, it will not be available for a few years (perhaps 7-8) so miss it now and you've missed it for a long, long time.

Being as the film is A-1 quality, I really don't see a problem with buying this release. That's why I'm buying three of them: The Gift Set, the French set with CD and the UK release with a free Simba toy.

True. I always forget the value of opening like a book... (sounds like a pick up line waiting to fail...).

Becaue the ET Giftset is already OOP! :o Don't hang around too much! (And if you're still thinking of getting the UK 3 disc set Loomis, that had a low print run coming as it did unannounced and after the release of the 2 disc set). You probably should hurry.
