Fox's Peter Pan & the Pirates

Post by numba1lostboy »

Does anyone remember FOX's 90's series called "Peter Pan and the Pirates"? As my persona suggests, I am kinda obsessed with everything Peter Pan.

It was always a lot closer to the actual story of Peter Pan than the Disney movie (as good as that one was to begin with). It was a really good show and I never got why it got taken off the air. Does anyone know when it might be getting released to the public in any format (DVD, VHS, or syndication?)...

Thanks.
:pan: Love It.

I don't remember this show, but I also am very interested in Peter Pan - and would love to hear additional information if anybody has any.

I read classic novels to my children, and their reward at the end of the book is to view any (and all) DVD material there is about the particular book we read. We haven't read Peter Pan yet...but it is coming up within the next 3 or 4 books.

I already bought (on DVD) Disney's classic Peter Pan, Return to Neverland, Hook -- and I've ordered the Cathy Rigby version of Peter Pan. Oh yeah - plus the new 2003 version.

Thode are all great ones!! Don't forget about Finding Never Land with Johnny Depp and Kate WInslet...it's a bio-pic about JM Barrie, the man who wrote Peter Pan.

That's my favorite movie incarnation of Peter Pan - and right below it is Spielberg's Hook and the 1953 Disney animated feature. I could care less about the other stage incarnations that have women playing the character of Peter. (I'm not being sexist here, if you're doing a movie or play about Peter Pan, stick to the book and have Peter being played by a man - having Peter being played by a woman is just creepy.)

I remember seeing that animated show on Fox when I was really young, I had forgotten all about it until you mentioned it. Still, I barely remember it... used to like it but I never really care for it now.

Yeah - I have that one too - LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! Spoiler: I love the parts where he gets his inspiration for Peter Pan...like the hook from an (umbrella?) handle.

Does Disney now own Fox's Peter Pan & the Pirates series

Post by UncleEd »

When Disney bought Fox Family Channel and took over ownership of some Fox Kids shows did they gain ownership of Fox's Peter Pan & the Pirates too? That's a show I'd love to see on DVD but I don't know who made it or owns it. I'm sure it wasn't Dic or Hanna-Barbera (who did the Pirates of Dark Water mini series at that same time) I've googled it before over the years but never found anything of much help. But if Disney now owns it then we might as well forget ever seeing it hit DVD since they treat the tv series they actually made so poorly.
