The Barbie Diaries

There was a new Barbie DVD that was supposed to be released on 1/31/2006, called Barbie Diaries.
Now Amazon.com has it's release date shown as 1/5/2010 (which I know means they don't know when it's going to be released). I've searched the internet as for the reason for the delay and the new release date to no avail.
Walmart is selling the dolls and other toys relating to the DVD already. I would like to wait to buy the accessories until after the DVD is released (or ideally at the same time)....but I don't want to wait too long before all the dolls and such are out of stock! Argh.

Was anyone else interested in this DVD or know anything about it?

LOL - I'm going to answer my own post.

I went ahead, bit the bullet, and started with one doll from this collection. On the box of the doll, it says the DVD will be released 'Spring 2006'.

Still not sure why it was delayed, but at least now I know a little bit more.

For anybody with a young daughter -- this DVD is now scheduled to be released on May 9th. Still no explanation for the delay...but on the plus side I now have the doll and the diary toy bought already!
So now when the DVD is released I can pick it up and give all three to my step-daughter. She's going to be thrilled. This DVD is about Barbie as a teenager, so it's a little different than the usual line of Barbie DVD's that have come out so far.

Also, Barbie: Mermaidia is going to be released next Tuesday. I think she's even more excited about that one.
