I'm going to Disneyland in 4 days.

Post by magicalwands »

Okay so I'm going to Disneyland on Tuesday, January 31. It seems like a perfect day to go because it's a weekday and it's a few weeks after the holidays. I'm spending roughly 6 hours at the park for free after the concert. I haven't been there for two years so I don't know what rides I should go on to make it worth going for free. As always, I have questions in this thread as well.

- First time I'm going since I've been having an urge to work at Pixar. Thus, I want some time of Pixar character lanyard. Do they have them? If so, where do they sell them?

- Astro Blasters Ride. Tips to score #1 for the day (Yes! it's expected i be the best at that ride if im going to work at pixar!)? Do they have a gift shop after it?

- My friend wants disneyland hand sanitizer (yeah, she's in love with hand sanitizer). Does anyone know if they sell them?

If you are going for free, then pretty much anything is worth it!

However, the *must ride* rides include (IMO):
- Indiana Jones
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Haunted Mansion
- Space Mountain
- Splash Mountain
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
- Matternhorn
- Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin

That way you've gone on at least one major ride from each "land". Then if you still have time, take the train and/or monorail around the park, so at least you get a good look at it (and DCA from the monorail) before you go.

Thus, I want some time of Pixar character lanyard. Do they have them? If so, where do they sell them?
Could you be a little more specific please? :D

I always found it good to "track" the target a little bit before shooting. To do this, I always had to be thinking one or two targets ahead of where the car was.

Time? I meant type of Pixar lanyard. Like maybe a Toy Story lanyard or an Incredibles one. I should proofread my posts from now on.

Edit: Thanks Loomis for your help! Btw, I'm sure it'll be helpful if I memorize the park map on the website rather than wait till Tueday and don't know where everything is. :D

Oh, I'm not sure I know what a lanyard is. That was my basis for confusion. :)

I understand it is some kind of keychain thing?

Chances are, if it can be sold, you will find it on Disney property. Be aware that there is a stack of stuff only available in the actual park, so don't make my mistake and think you can pick some of it up at the World of Disney store in Downtown at the last minute...

It was the best picture I could find. No worries, I'll only be able to stay inside of Disneyland anyways.

I had a nightmare last night where I called a friend and they said they were already at Disneyland! :( And it was 6pm so there was no point in me getting there now.

Cool! I've seen videos of band kids playing at Disneyland! Hope you have fun! :)

Well I *think* I recall seeing a couple of them in Tomorrowland, but I wouldn't be too sure. But if it's Pixar stuff you're looking for, Tomorrowland and Main Street U.S.A are pretty much your best bests. Main Street will have shops and have just about everything while you'll have to be blind to see Buzz in Tomorrowland, and I'm sure there are also other Pixar characters in TL.

Tip: Shoot the back of the Robot's hands! Back of Robot's hands= 1000 points!

You'll pretty much find them throughout the park in all the gift shops I'm sure.

Also for rides, how long are you going to be in the park? Because I assume you're main reason for going is to play music and I doubt you'll be there the entire day. If so, try to avoid Idiana Jones, Space Mountain and Splash Mountain because even though all of them are amazing rides, they have the longest lines and you'll want to try as many rides as possible right?

I hope this helps.

To be more specific, it's the giant ORANGE robot, as there are many robots and aliens in the attraction (though this is on the assumption that Astro Blasters is the same as Space Ranger Spin in WDW). In general, the most points are the hardest targets (moving, awkward position, requiring spinning of car). Though Astro Blasters should be easier since the blasters are more mobile whereas in WDW, they're mounted on the vehicle. Good luck, and I hope you have a lot of fun!! Oh and if you try to take a picture of your score, don't use the flash or all you'll get is 88888888, lol.

I'm pretty sure there's a Buzz Lightyear Lanyard accesory (the big key chains at the ends of the lanyard). (Later...) Okay, I'm absoultely positive there is one:

Here's a trading Medal of Buzz you can add to any lanyard:

If you want more, here's a Buzz Starter Pin Set, with lanyard:
http://laughingplacestore.com/Product-0764.asp

And here's Mr. Incredible Trading Medal:
http://laughingplacestore.com/Product-4419.asp

The Incredibles Starter Pin Set:
http://laughingplacestore.com/Product-4410.asp

Escapay has one with all the Incredibles, though I think it was just for cast members.

Disneyland Hand Sanitzer is not available yet, though considering they've already released Disney Princess Breakfast Cereal, Disney Villain Paper Towels, and Lilo and Stitch Kleenex, I'm pretty sure Disneyland Hand Sanitizer should be coming soon. For now, you'll have to settle with normal brand name hand sanitizer (Dial, Purell, etc.) that just happens to be available at Disneyland.

I hope you have a lot of fun and good luck with your concert!!! :)

:o Those pins are so awesome! (there were NO exaggeration in that) But I really hope they're only $15 or less at Disneyland and the website is just over pricing them. I'm really tempted to get one that just says Disneyland but it's just not the same when I could've gotten one that said Walt Disney World two years ago.

I was hoping there was one where only the logo Toy Story was printed on the leather strap. But I guess I could always get a Disneyland one and put the Trading Medals and Starter Pins on it.

Aww...thanks guys! I just wanted to share with you guys a quote from the Disneyland Policies on the contract:
The Walt Disney Company reserves the right to photograph and/or record the group, and the right to use those reproductions in any type of electronic or print media, known and unknown, throughout the universe in perpetuity.
I wouldn't be surprised if our music were used in a Disney sequel one day.

Yeah, the laughingplace.com store overprices them on purpose. They include the price to actually go to the park and purchase the item to send to you. It's like a service fee. Shipping is separate, but they're reasonable additions to your total. I think the starter sets go for $25 - $30 in the parks. If you don't want to spend so much on the starter set, you can just buy the pins individually since the starter sets give you doubles so you can trade. They have quite a few more Pixar pins than the starter sets. Hope you find the ones you want! :)

Lol, that'd be awesome if your concert music was in Great Mouse Detective II or something. Teede would be delighted.

Do they have lanyards where the character or its logo is printed along the leather necklace? Now that I know they have pins I want them too. But when I first thought of getting one, I imagined the characters printed on the lace. I saw the Disneyland one where it's printed on the lanyard but I was hoping they'd have more.

I don't remember seeing character lanyards except for the one for water bottles. I think these are red with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto along the lanyard. You could PM Escapay to see if there were other kinds because he sold these when he worked there.

For pin lanyards, there's the general black, double black (I have both of these, the former is a better choice. The double is too thick and makes your neck sweaty). Also there are the other colors of the rainbow and some with the WDW/Disneyland logo and some with stars and pixie dust. Here's what laughingplace.com has available, but I'm sure there are more at the park: http://laughingplacestore.com/Category-RC-601-P-1.asp .

Hope this helps, and again, have lots of fun! :)

All I hope to achieve Tuesday is 1) a good fun day at disneyland and 2) to find a landyard that I really like. I guess I was overreacting that I would spend 3 hours to find a lanyard.

I'd like to take this time to thank everyone:

Loomis: Thanks Loomis for the ride suggestions. They brought back memories and I do remember going on some of those! :) I'll be sure to try and go on all of them!

Timon/Pumba fan: Thanks for the ride and souviner tips. Hopefully I'll make it to the top 10 of all time and so when you guys go you can see my name and say "He goes to UltimateDisney.com"!

MickeyMousePal: Thanks, I hope this Tuesday isn't wasted there and no problems will turn up. I haven't been there for two years either and I have to tell you, it drove me nuts! I think you should make it a rule to visit Disneyland at least once a year. :)

Kram Nebuer: ORANGE ROBOT. got it. :D I'll be sure to shoot them more than once too, I heard they give double points. Also thanks for looking up lanyards for me, and even going up to post the links for me. That was so kind of you to do so!

I'll be sure to take a picture of my lanyard and my score on Astro Blasters for you guys. Thanks so much for all this, you don't know how much I appreciate getting help about going to Disneyland even after living in California for all my life.
