Is This True? Aladdin To Be released In IMAX in Late 2004?
Is This True? Aladdin To Be released In IMAX in Late 2004?
Aladdin To be Released In IMAX Theaters in late 2004? I just went to IMAX's website and it had Aladdin all the way down at the bottom of the list passing all the releases to come out in 2003 and 2004!

I don't know, but I'm a little bit ticked!
First of all, I was expecting this to open Christmas day, just as BATB and TLK did. Now I don't know what to expect, for all we know they could push the platinum release back even further, to May of 2005!!! "No" you say, it has already been confirmed for October 2004, yeah well Sleeping Beauty was confirmed for this past spring and that didn't stop the powers that be from pushing it all the way back to September, and now I hear that the supposedly "confirmed" January 27th releases, may not all be released on January 27th. I was really hoping this Lion King release would answer a few lingering questions and instead it has only seemed to create more. There is so much confusion right now about Aladdin's I-Max status, the release dates for the SE's of Alice in Wonderland, Pocahontas, and Lilo and Stitch...
I really wish disney would be more firm with their plans, and stop all this madness, the only surprises I want from them are the good kind, like "hey we said a certain title wouldn't be out for another few years, but hey we decided to release it early!" Now that would be nice, but right now, I have a real head ache from all this stuff...
But to answer your question Matt, yes Aladdin was suppose to go to I-Max, but I really don't know what is going to happen now...

Well it WAS supposed to be a Holiday release, like PP stated. As a matter of fact we were going to take our Special Needs kids to the Indianapolis Children's Museum to see this at some point during the Winter.Matt wrote:Aladdin To be Released In IMAX Theaters in late 2004? I'm not sure what all of these potential delays are all about, but like many of you I will not be happy to see some of these titles get pushed back. It's not the fact that I can't wait, because...well, I have to. You just can't make aggressive pub dates and not hold them. I'd rather Disney overestimate and allow for delays then to try and hit an earlier date only to have to push it back.

Well hopefully something very very good is coming out of this, as well, as it's already pushed back platitnum release date
! I mean maybe their are really doing magic on the new musical number that is almost certain to be featured in this "Special Edition" version, better than the Mourning Report that I've only heard bad things about, and atleast upto par with Human Again, which I enjoyed, but hopefully it will be the best one yet!
Perhaps that is why the I-Max release is being delayed and why the platinum release date was pushed back from it's original october 2003 slot. (I realize everyone says this is because they wanted the Lion King, to bring in better numbers, but I'm just hoping there was more to it
.
I'm expecting something good, since Alan Menken will probably be over seeing it, just as he did with BATB.
