"Mermaid" Cover To Be Revealed In A Month?

Post by rodis »

If Memraid is the next platinum after Tramp, does this mean we will see its cover as soon as February? I really hope so 'cause I'm getting excited since February is only a month away :D

Ya know I think you're right! Atleast by February, because the Cinderella cover was revealed in Aladdin's release (a year before Cinderella was released)...so I think the TLM cover will be inside a booklet for LATT, or maybe it will be leaked to the internet even sooner :D The french Disney forum is pretty reliable so I'll ask them too!
let's keep our fingers crossed for a beatiful TLM cover (and on-model characters!) come on disney, don't fail us now!

Well, we´ll have to be ready to look in every new DVD release since February 1st to find the cover...do you think that it will come on the Bambi II DVD?

Seeing cover art only makes me more anxious to actually get the DVD. So, it would probably be in Disney's best interest to show this sooner rather than later, so I can get super-pumped for the release.

Art cover motivates a lot of people on getting a DVD (including myself).

wouldn´t be nice to make a "what do you think the cover will have" thing?

besides the "platinum edition" logo, and Ariel of course

Actually, when I was in Japan last November, they had a Disney calendar at McDonald's and it had some DVD covers/poster pics in it. One of them was of Little Mermaid and it seemed like a possible DVD cover. I took a picture of it and I'll post it once I find it... Sorry!

It was posted on here already but it was so small. It'd be cool if you could get a better shot of it.

I'm really hoping to see a cover soon, just because I can't wait for all the hype to begin. :D The year is gonna rock, just because Mermaid will finally be out!

I think that the cover for the Little Mermaid will appear on the booklets of the next Platinum release that is Lady and the Tramp.

Can't wait!
Some time ago I sketched cover for TLM myself and I think my idea was quite nice; Ariel sitting on the seafloor with serious yet dreamy face looking up (down left on the cover) and her whole hair is above her. Beam of light comes to her face and her hair from up right. Flounder is looking up too, he's on the right corner next to Ariel. The logo is in the center of the cover in the box as usual. The logo is with the original font. Cover's colors are quite dark blue (allmost black), but not so dark towards the surface. And of course the beam of light is almost white and beautifully shiny. :)
What do you think?

sounds really interesting! id love to see a scan of that sketch. i think that it's important to imcorporate a lot of colour in artwork for TLM (bottom of the ocean blues, sea greens...)that compliment her intense red hair. i hope it's not wayyy too black.

I can't wait to see the cover art for the Platinum Edition release of The Little Mermaid.

I found the web page of the guy who designed it.

I'm also really looking forward to this! I just hope Ursula has a nice place on it.

I e-mailed the guy asking to send me the DVD cover he designed for "The Little Mermaid" platinum edition. He's probably been told to keep it a secret but we'll see!

I thought about that. I am sure he will not be able to do that, as I'm positive he had to sign a contract that he would not release the image.

If he does, please, share it with us all!

I hope to see at least one of the two castles on the cover and Ursula on the top of the logo or at least in an important place.
