Who is the best disney prince?

Who do you think is the best disney prince out of the following:

1) Aladdin
2) Prince Eric
3) Prince Charming from Cinderella
4) The Beast
5) Prince Phillip
6) Prince from SnowWhite

In my opinion, I would have to say either the beast or prince phillip just because the beast was one of the coolest characters of all time and prince phillip has the best costume. All the other princes have wackey, weird looking outfits.

Well...Samson didn't talk either...but I know what you mean, he communicates with Phillip, and that is cool.

I love the Beast, I feel that his character development centers around his desire to become human, and once he gets that...I don't feel like I know who he IS anymore. The lack-of-name doesn't help, either...hehe.

As far as Phillip is concerned...I would rank him as 2nd on my personal list of Favourite Disney Princes...I do really like him. I like the way he strikes bargains with his horse, I crack up when he dances with King Hubert, and his look of triumph before he enters Briar Rose's cottage is hysterical. I think he's a very devoted guy, and very passionate about the things he cares about, like wanting to marry the girl he loves. I think it's rather funny that the good fairies tell him "The road to true love is barred with many obstacles, which you alone will have to face"...and then they do almost all of the work in busting him out of the dungeon and defeating Maleficent. But hey, a man who fights a dragon is awesome any day, help or not...I don't think there's anything WRONG with needing a little assistance while battling a fire-breathing dragon. Oh, and he falls off his horse in his excitement to follow the voice...that is also awesome. He's a great character; there's really not much, if anything, that I don't like about him...I've just REALLY liked Aladdin since the movie came out.

I think that Aladdin has more clearly defined character flaws in addition to his strong points, which makes him more believable to me. I love the fact that he struggles with himself and trying to be someone of worth. He is driven by more than just wanting to get the girl, and is even willing to give up the girl in the name of being a true friend who keeps his promises and thus, being someone he can feel isn't totally worthless. I just think Aladdin's character is very sincere and more complex than a lot of people realizes...he comes across very devil-may-care and confident, but he really has a lot of issues with himself. And as much as I love that his motives involve more than just the girl, I LOVE his relationship with Jasmine...I could go on for a LONG time about that. I'm actually writing about it for a presentation I hope to give if I ever come back to WDW as a cast member after my college program.

Anyway, I think I'll stop there. Bottom line: I just have a long-standing fondness for Aladdin and many many things that I love about his character that make him #1 in my book...his outranking Phillip is not a slam against Phillip in any way.

Anyways, here's my thoughts on each Prince (be it a prince or a prince-by-marriage)

Aladdin - He's the most kickass of the princes, simply because he's got a monkey for a pet, he married into money, and he seems to be the most fleshed out character with a true personality and motivation. Aladdin's the ultimate prince, simply because he ISN'T one initially.

Prince Eric - he's okay as far as princes go, you don't really know much about him except he loves the sea, he's obsessed with finding his rescuer, and he takes in a naked mute redhead.

Prince Charming - if he truly loved the girl in the glass slipper, he would have searched for her himself, rather than let the Duke do it. I mean, if the Duke did it and another girl fit the slipper and the Prince KNEW it wasn't her, he'd be forced to marry her. And he was rather dull, but had a nice singing voice.

The Beast (or Prince Adam) - Next to Aladdin, he's the next best prince, simply because of his personality and his character. He's definitely a lead role and his transformation is stunning to watch. Hate to admit it, though, but I like it better when Belle's with him as a beast as opposed to when he's human (his human version looks really 90s, don't know why, other than that he was created in 1991).

Prince Phillip - the alpha prince, he's a prototype for your fairy tale action hero, with some humor thrown in for good measure, and a fun loving horse. I think if he were developed a bit more, he could have been a better prince than what we get onscreen.

The Original Prince Charming - unfortunately for this singing prince, his name now belongs to Cindy's hubby, and he's the least developed of all the prince characters. All he does is sing and kiss Snow White.

So after all that, I think Aladdin by far is the best Prince, with Beast/Prince Adam following him, then Prince Phillip. Everyone else is too dull to write home about.

My two favourites are Eric and Beast, I just prefer their characters in comparison to the others, although I do agree that Aladdin is a pretty well rounded chap.

My least favourite Princes are Charming 1 and Prince Phillip, they were just there...nothing more, nothing less.

My opinions:

Snow Prince: Any guy that'll search high & low personally & solo for the love of his life is a prince to me....what coulda been a more perfect ending of them riding off in the sunset together?

Prince Charming: Most regal/serious. Though, i wish his character had more air-time...he shoulda looked for Cindy himself...best love song duet too...& yeah mainly cuz it was my wedding song too. haha..

Prince Phillip: By far the best sense of humor goes to this prince. He had a really good line in "no carrots"....dunno why-used to make me smile when I was a kid.

Prince Eric: I'm glad they gave this guy alot of airtime...He's not my fav prince-but at least he wasn't more of an almost background prince like Charming.

Prince Adam: All i can say is I love this guy. The end of that movie made me cry.

Aladdin: I like how they made him the main character instead of the princess. Though Jaz is by far the best out-spoken princess...she goes great w/ Al who is also pretty swift & out-spoken himself.

When Prince Phillip goes to the cottage and is trapped by Maleficent's goons, how is it that 5 or 6 goons could tie him up there but not at the castle. There were at least 100 goons at the castle. Also, when maleficent shows phillip the future, wouldn't she see him escaping in her crystal ball...I dunno...they're just thoughts....some things just didn't really make sense in sleeping beauty.

Hmm...the way I see it is this:

When Prince Phillip is jumped at the castle, he's totally not expecting it, so he doesn't have time to react, thus, only 5 or 6 goons can take him. But when he's escaping at the castle, he knows he's going to be attacked, so he's prepared (remember, he's got a sword and shield now too), so he can fend them off.

Also, perhaps Maleficent can't see them escaping simply because she's seeing the future based on what SHE knows, and what she knows is that Prince Phillip is captured in her dungeon. She doesn't know the fairies are there to save him, so she doesn't see that future. Does that make sense?

Aladdin has to be the first, because he's the most detailed character that you also wanted to see succeed and was always sympathetic, even when he made the mistake of thinking Jasmine wouldn't appreciate him for who he was.

I feel duty-bound to deduct major points for Beast as a great Prince because he was not at all gracious before Belle entered his life. For all the reasons people were giving why Beast was a great Prince, it was the character of Belle's influence.

Phillip is my choice for 2nd best. Because he was the first Prince with a real story. In a sense (ha ha), the first "prize to be won" of the bunch. Because he had a personality and was a man of conviction. He was never going to marry a girl he'd never met and didn't love. He's basically the model for Jasmine's defiance of the betrothal law.

The other Princes might have come first. And actually, given that, I think that puts Cinderella's Prince Charming at a disadvantage. While it was definitely an advantage for Snow White's Prince. Because he was a character representation of security, while also embodying a purity matching Snow White's. All that bound Cinderella and Prince Charming together was love at first sight. The story relied too much on common fate.

Here's how I rank them:

As lots of people have already said, Aladdin and Adam/Beast are easily the most fleshed out being the stars of their own films. I give Aladdin slightly higher props for always being likeable whereas Adam was a definite jerk at first. Phillip and Eric are fairly similar. We don't get to know them much, but they're present enough to actually DO something, with Phillip's cheekiness placing him a bit above Eric. Between the two deus ex machina princes (Snow White's and Cinderella's), Cindy's comes across better. Despite minimal screentime, he for some reason seems more manly than Snow's. He also is better looking and has a better singing voice.
