It's Been 42 Years Since WWOC Was Preempted
It was also 42 years ago this week, Sunday, November 24th, 1963, Walt Disney's "Wonderful World of Color" was scheduled to air a 3-part episode of the 1960 theatrical release "Pollyanna" with Hayley Mills on NBC-TV (as shown on New York City's WNBC-TV Channel 4). The 3-part episode on WWOC was preempted due to the assassination of president John F. Kennedy. A week later on December 1st, 1963, Disney's "Wonderful World of Color" returned to NBC and aired the 3-part episode of "Pollyanna" following the Kennedy assassination. Has anybody remembered it happened on that date?

I doubt anyone found a movie pre-emption worthy to remember 42 years later...musicradio77 wrote:The 3-part episode on WWOC was preempted due to the assassination of president John F. Kennedy. Well, as they say, ignorance is bliss. You could easily get too depressed with the News unlike with a Disney classic.Escapay wrote:Then they really need to rethink their prioritiesLuke wrote: What about people who really, really wanted to watch Pollyanna that night?
