New animated film for 2012?
Has anyone heard about this project that is supposedly coming out in 2012?
Is it supposed to be in CGI or Disney's disowned cell animation?
Big Cartoon Database is who had the film listed.
The Search for Mickey Mouse (2012) (Walt Disney Pictures.) featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Basil of Baker Street, Peter Pan, Fiddler Pig, Fife Pig, Robin Hood, Alice, Aladdin

It has been shelved. It was originally slated to be the 50th animated classic. I cant remember how it was supposed to go at the time
45 - Ghosts that Haunt Me(now cancelled)
46 - Chicken Little
47 - A Day for Wilber Robinson
48 - American Dog
49 - Rapunzel
50 - The Search for Mickey Mouse - it would contain at least one character from each of the previous 49 movies. However, they just could not get a script that worked so they cancelled the project. At the time it was accounced 46-49 were supposed to be hand drawn too.
Now Chicken Little is 45 through 48 of Rapunzel. Not sure if they have announced what 49 or 50 will be yet.
According to Jim Hill media it was shelved in December 2002.

The Wild is CGI-for-hire like Valiant, only it looks worse; Disney didn't do it themselves, so, like Pixar's productions, it's not counted as an animated classic in Disney's canon.Fidget1234 wrote:& dont forget "The Wild" is coming out in 2006 too!

Ummm, no I don't think so. I don't like Dreamworks because their traditionally animated films are ridiculous (I like the animation itself, though), and of course I hate Shrek, the ugliest and more brainless CGI animation of all time, and I also hate Antz too, cause I think the animation is tragic. But the SharkTale was a really nice movie, with really COOL animation-maybe the underwater setting helps. Lola is just breathtaking, Oscar is hilarious, a real comedy with hilarious jokes for everybody, without being offensive. The plot is cool, and the songs are pretty cool too. Maybe it's just me, BUT you have to know that when I'm going to watch a non-disney, CGI animated film, I'm always like; "Okay let's see that crap, cause I don't have anything else to do". But SharkTale really raised my interest I have to admit.Timon/Pumba fan wrote:And the animation in every cheapquel has looked brilliant compared to SharkTale!

I can't beleive that they could not get a script. If I had to create a movie about all the animated classics it would be great. It would start out with Maleficent or one of the other villains who get an idea to go into every animated classic and change it so the villain wins. All the villains would team up and re-create the movies. Mickey ends up kidnapped and Maleficent becomes the new "Disney Ruler". All the princesses are also kidnapped. When Basil finds out that many films have allready been altered, he decides to go into movies himself, and help the characters escape. They go on a huge adventure, eventually finds Mickey, and the best Disney battle ever happens. Villains vs. the animated characters. That could be a great movie. The film would be called "Magic"

Well, that would work, if only most of what you said has been used for the Kingdom Heart games.Disney Villain wrote:I can't beleive that they could not get a script. A script this ambitious would be nothing more than a gimmick. It would be pretty redundant and self-congratulatory, an endeavor for marketing purposes. What would worry me is how they would draw the characters when the animation style is so distinct in certain movies. How could they have characters that are on-model, but are different from the production design. For instance, Pong and Perdita would immediately stand out in the world of Lady and Tramp. It would have to be pretty long too, otherwise a ninety minute feature would be useless and nonsensical, almost like a reel of Disney clips.

orestes.
Well they pulled off bringing all of the characters for 'House of Mouse'.
Anyways I've always said that I would want to see a 'Kingdom Hearts' movie but people always shoot me down saying the video game is enough so I guess people would be more open to a movie not based on the game.
I don't know if Disney could pull this off right now with great results.
Anyways I'm neutral on this. I wouldn't mind seeing something along these lines but I would much rather see a movie with a lot of classic characters from Mickey to Pete to Humphrey. I've think I've blabbed on about this too much already though.
