Also which mickey style is your favorite? there are many, the year 1928, produced 4 mickey styles!!!! then Mickey remian ed pretty constant through the 1930's, the only change, was the transition to color, then in the 40's he went through another transfermation and I believe another in the 50's, and has just kept on changing and evolving to this day!

The Mickey Mouse Thread
In addition to the poll, I'm curious which Mickey Mouse cartoons are most special to you, if any, and which ones your favorites are. Also any about about Mickey that you would like to mention or question or discuss, would be fine. This is THE MICKEY MOUSE THREAD, my little contribution to Mickey Mouse Day, which is today! Sept 18th.

I voted for MMILC2, but BW2 is also very highly anticipated, it's just so darn far off!
I think as mentioned several times before it should have been released in a box set, this year, with the other 3 Mickey treasure, commemerating our favorite little mouse's birthday.
So cartoons that hold a special place in my heart are:
Pluto's Judgement Day
Lonesome Ghosts and
Mickey's Birthday Party (which will be on the upcoming treasure)
Some of my favorite cartoons from the first set (aside from the 2 mentioned above) are:
Mickey's Garden
Mickey's Fire Brigade
Through The Mirror
Mickey's Grand Opra
Hawaiian Holiday
Moose Hunters
Magican Mickey
Mickey's Amatuers (will we ever again have the pleasure of seeing Donald pull out a machine gun and opening fire on the audience)
Brave Little Tailor (that one's kinda special too)
From the black and white set, I like:
(this list is a lot longer)
Steamboat Willie
Plane Crazy
Gallopin' Gaucho
Mickey's Nightmare
The Mad Doctor
Camping Out (loved this one cause it had Horace and Clara bell)
Gulliver Mickey
Actually I love practically all Mickey cartoons!!!!! (and I had to cut the second list a bit short, but the black and whites were so much fun!
I am looking forward to being able to watch Mickey's Christmas Carol this Christmas, since it is on the upcoming treasure, but am sad as it seems Mickey and the Beanstalk will not be on it.
This cartoon was very special to me as well. I love the music in it, especially the song, "In My Favorite Dreams". And the scene where Donald looks through his slice of a bean sandwhich and just goes crazy is one of those things that you see in a cartoon that you don't forget, even if you forget everything else in the cartoon.
Mickey has a special place in my heart, and when I have a son or preferably sons, I will constantly dress them in Mickey, and buy them all things Mickey!!!
That's all I can think to say for now....

Mickey Mouse in Living Color 2 is my most anticipated. I own the other two previously released tins...
Inigo: I do not mean to pry, but you don't by any chance happen to have six fingers on your right hand?
Westley: Do you always begin conversations this way?
Inigo: You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you.
Westley: You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die.

I'd have to say MMILC2, mainly because I just got the other two within the last few months
Some of my fave toons are Moose Hunters, Lonesome Ghosts etc. So I'd have to the late 30s are my fave period in terms of toons...but I guess Mickey was appearing less in those toons. Some of them involved Mickey popping up at the start, saying hello, Donald entertaining orphans (what WAS the deal with orphans? Every second frickin' toon...), and then Mickey appearing at the end...
As far as Mickey's look goes, just looking at the DK 'Ultimate Visual Guide' which has a chart (pp.12-13) of the various looks.
I really don't like the look of 1941 'The Little Whirlwind' type look (with the two-tone ears - in fact, Mickey looks meaner for some reason). I don't mind the 1953 'The Simple Things' look too much (improvement over 2-tone), but I think the familiar look Mickey has evolved into now (see Runaway Brain; House of Mouse etc) is probably my fave.
