Wanna Start Disney Collection For Soon-To-Arrive Brother...
Hey! I'm Zack. This is my first post. Now, with the next few months, I'm starting a collection of Disney DVDs, so when my 1st sibling (a little boy this winter, parents wanna name him Aiden) arrives (Yah! Finally!), I'll have a plethora of Disney movies ready for him to watch.
Now here's what I'm planning on buying:
Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs (PE)
Beauty & the Beast (PE)
The Lion King (PE)
Bambi (PE)
Cinderella (PE)
Lady & The Tramp (PE) *It'll be out when he's a month or two
Alice in Wonderland (MC)
Tarzan (SE)
The Emperor's New Groove (SE)
Pocahontas (10-Year Anni.)
Mulan (SE)
Dumbo (60th-Anni.)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Toy Story (SE)
A Bug's Life (SE)
Toy Story 2 (SE)
Monsters, Inc. (SE)
Mary Poppins (40-Anni.)
Bedknobs & Broomsticks (30-Anni.)
Then when he's 1/2 a year, I'll get:
The Little Mermaid (PE)
and Lilo & Stitch (PE) whenever that comes out.
I own Aladdin, Atlantis: The Lost Empire (Grandparents...), Finding Nemo, & The Incredibles...
Now, can ANYONE tell how to get Snow White, Beauty & the Beast, & The Lion King, since they're in the stupid vault?
*Wink, Wink* Baby Shower Gift *Wink, Wink* Ask For Home Address To Ship It *Wink, Wink* lol
I tried eBay, but I want the DVD Case, every decent priced disc comes in a slip and not the case, or if I want the case, I gotta pay 50 bucks for it.
Tear, Tear.
Any help would be appreciated.

That's very nice what your doing to your sibling (younger brother).
Well you can try Amazon Market Place, E-Bay (but be very careful) and some UD members sell off their DVD's.
I own all the Disney animated DVD's.

That is very sweet, You will prpbably have a good 2 years before he is readt to watch the movies, you may wanna start with dvds that will hold his intrest when he is younger like the Baby Einstein dvds which I believe is put out by Disney, Other places to look for the dvds you want is at pawn shops and used dvd stores

With The Lion King, you may be able to find it by going on a big hunt around the shops in your area, especially the widely beloved Gamestop, which sells used DVDs, and good condition and often OOP Disney DVDs sometimes pop up in there. If that fails, you could always find it (along with Snow White and Beauty and the Beast) on Amazon Marketplace and E-Bay, although you must remember to watch out for bootlegs (aka don't go for the cheapest price available)Now, can ANYONE tell how to get Snow White, Beauty & the Beast, & The Lion King, since they're in the stupid vault?

Okay, here are where you can get the four "in the vult" DVDs.
Walmart.com has The Lion King for around 19.99
Now the other two that are Long of of print you have a few choices..
If you send me a check or someting for 20.99 I can get you a copy of Beauty and the Beast at my local Strawberries. For the Snow White you have three choices. Ebay, Amazon Marketplace, or Blockbuster. You are probably thinking B-L-O-C-K-B-U-S-T-E-R???!! Well yes. Ever heard of no late fees? Well on the bottom of you recipt it will say you can purchase this on (14 day period) for _____. On average the Out of print ones are about 21.99. It is worth it. You can email me at jamminjake245@gmail.com so I can help you out a little more if recquired. I am more then happy to help!!
P.S Here are a few tips on EXCELENT baby shows for the child:
Muppet Babies (Coming to DVD Someday)
Baby Looney Tunes
Backyardigans
Franklin*******BEST SHOW FOR KIDS!!!!!!
Over all every show on the Noggin network would be EXCELENT for your brother.
Visit www.Noggin.com
Also is has been proven that children who watch television shows with a lot of songs help thems build vocabulary and puts their mind in a thinking mode Vs. Spongebob which would not recquire any thinking.
Don't get too much of a DVD collection since they are soon going to be replace by Blu-Ray, but if the movies are just for him then I would keep the DVDs
When your brothers get to the 7ish - 12 age thinking that all the movies are for babies if he asks you to give them away, DON'T!! Keep them hidden in a box somewhere because when he reaches 13 everything he used to watch as a kid will be popular again and he'll want to reminise.

Snow White and Beauty and the Beast should be the toughest ones to find, the rest shouldn't be too hard. Is Mulan in the vault already though? It's been out for quit some time now. Anyway, I wouldn't try ebay, you can easily end up with junk. Best way is to go to every single dvd store around and check if they have any left. That's how a lot of UDer's around here find them. Good luck!

Re: Wanna Start Disney Collection For Soon-To-Arrive Brother
Do you care about the bonus features Zach? Because if you do you should go look for the collector editions on Amazon since they occasionally sell them cheap. They're much better than these cheap rereleased editions. If you don't care that much then you're better off buying these new editions.ImTheElectricPanda wrote: Now here's what I'm planning on buying:

Then that leaves us with The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Snow White. I just went to Blockbuster yesterday to spend my gift-certificate, and I found copies of The Lion King 1.5 and The Lion King 2 with slipcovers!

Now Beauty and the Beast you'll find if you're lucky, and Snow White would be a miracle. So my best bet for of those is Amazon.
Hopes this helps.!

You don't need to be in a rush to buy any of the harder to find DVDs, or movies that we can safely expect a new edition of. I would think Aiden (I once had a friend used this name when he was a prostitute) wouldn't watch any of the Disney movies until he's at least 4 years old. I would watch what (if anything) happens with HD-DVD/Blu-Ray. You wouldn't want to go replacing them all. It's a very sweet idea of you, and your brother is lucky to have you. (And your parents will get endless relief if you follow that other person's advice of buying him Baby Einstein DVDs... those things are genius -- my favourite is Baby Noah).

That fact wasn't necessary. Remember, this is a family forum and there are some "kids" here who don't want to be exposed to that stuff yet.Today4U wrote: (I once had a friend used this name when he was a prostitute)

Alan, though I do agree that this is a family friendly site, I somewhat object to your comment of "there are 13 year olds posting here." Even though I am no longer thirteen, I definitely knew what a prostitute was and reading that fact would not have changed my life forever or anything. My point is that thirteen-year-olds are as innocent, naive and childlike as I think you believe.Alan wrote: That fact wasn't necessary. Quite judgemental of you. Why don't you go vote Republican and kill another couple thousand innocent Americans? Jackass.Alan wrote:That fact wasn't necessary.
