Alvin and the Chipmunks on DVD

Post by JiminyCrick91 »

Up untill now you could only get Alvin & The Chipmunks on DVD (or even on video as the tapes are OOP) with Universal's Monster Bash Fun Pack that had the 2 DTV Chipmunk films: Alvin And The Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein & Alvin And The chipmunks Meet The Wolfman (and 2 other things: Monster Mash & Archie & The Riverdale Vampires). Or online you could get this new show with the Chipmunks as Babies ( ) in Little Alvin and the mini-Munks or the ONE Christmas show on the Alvin And The chipmunks website. But on Nov. 1st Paramount Home Video is releaseing a DVD with A Chipmunk Christmas & Merry Christmas Mr Carroll AND Dave's Wonderful Life!!!!! :D

This is great news! The only thing is, Dave's Wonderful Life... I know its a take off of Its a Wonderful Life, but it takes place in Summertime.....

On the chipmunks website, they also had (but only for like a month, then they were gone) Trick or Treason, and the Easter one. I wonder when those and the other specials will be available.

Were "Alvin and the Chipmunks" to be released in season/volume sets to DVD, would all three of these episodes be included? I see people here referring to them as specials, so I'm wondering.

I would love to get all of the episodes of this show on DVD. And even as we wait for those, I might end up caving and getting this release, because Chipmunks + Christmas = must-have. I finally got the 2 Christmas albums on CD last year- an upgrade from my cassette tapes.

Hip-Hip Hooray for "The Chipmunk Adventure"! :pink:

I love Alvin and the Chipmunks since I was a kid. I'm glad that this movie needs a DVD release. I can't wait for that one. As for the Christmas special, I must agree that Chuck Jones is an amazing guy. He also did 2 specials from Raggedy Anne and Andy (the christmas one and the halloween one. I haven't seen those specials in YEARS!!). I have to get the christmas special on DVD when I'm feeling better from the flu.

I only want 1 Chipmunks related thing to come to DVD, the movie where he and the brothers are versus the girls in a hotair balloon race around the world for those little dolls that look exactly like them.

^ Umm that is The Chipmunk Adventure movie.

And I have to say I am way excited about this release! I agree that most places will probably have it for sale at $9.99 I'd imagine. Definitly worth a buy no matter the price though!

Great news! I absolutely love this movie and can't wait to own it! I really hope we get a few extra features, but even a bare-bones release is worth my time. The artwork looks great! Now if only they would release Jetsons The Movie ;)

I'm starting to remember things about that movie. Like that Lethario-Gigiloish type guy that I think was the evil Woman's partner in the scheme. And she had this mean little dog. And there was a scene where she putting nail polish or the servants put it on the little dog's nails. And when the housekeeper lady realizes something on the road / freeway, she's singing their hit "Witch Doctor." Stuff like that.

I wonder if Paramount will release those Alvin and the Chipmunk episodes from the '80s, the ones where they are spoofing a movie. Those were funny.

"The Chipmunk Adventure" Finally Hits DVD This Tue

Post by coolinout1 »

I don't care for the new cover art, yet I'm happy to finally see it hit DVD (it was released previously on a limited edition VHS in the late 90s). I remember I loved all the songs when I watched it, the jokes were hilarious, and it was cool to see them traveling around the world.

Lights... camera... Alvin! Alvin? "Alll-vin!" Yes, it's everyone's favorite singing chipmunks--Alvin, Simon, and Theodore--in their very first full-length motion picture. And what a film it is! Filled with thrilling adventure, toe-tapping songs, and exotic global locations, The Chipmunk Adventure is an awesome animated odyssey. When Dave Seville embarks on a solo business trip to Europe, a disappointed Simon, Theodore, and Alvin are left at home in the care of the accident-prone Miss Miller. But soon Alvin has agreed to an offer that will allow the boys to become jet-setters of their own--by participating in an around-the-world hot-air balloon race! Their main competitors in the airborne adventure are the Chipettes--Brittany, Jeannette, and Eleanor--but their real opponents turn out to be Klaus and Claudia, two conniving international crooks who have cooked up the "race" as a front for their worldwide diamond smuggling operation! Join the laughs, music, and mayhem as the Chipmunks and the Chipettes take off on their hilarious high-flying adventures.

New disc (Alvin and the Chipmunks:Trick Or Treason) in August. At this time it is unknown if it will have only the title 'toon or if there will be extra ones like the Christmas DVD.
