Since I visited WDW in 2004, I've wanted to learn more about Audio-Animatronics. The "Behind the Disney Studios" DVD did very little for me, as did Jason Surell's book on the Haunted Mansion. I also do not own Disneyland USA. So, does anyone know when the "Wonderful World" episodes with AA footage (specifically Carousel of Progress and Haunted Mansion) will be released, or have they already been released?
Though we don't know much about Disney's plans for DVD release of its wealth of old television programs, there are other Disney shows that have features with Animatronics.
The only one I can think of right now is the Pirates of the Caribbean bonus content. There is part (or maybe a whole?) episode of WWoC that features the opening of New Orleans Square and Walt and a Disney Ambassador touring WED and the Pirates attraction plans. If you can find the WWoC (or Walt Disney Presents) episode "Disneyland Showtime" the last 10ish minutes of the show focuses on Haunted Mansion. We see how many of the effects were created and a ride through with the Osmond brothers, Kurt Russel, and EJ Peaker. I think it may be on a fan made DVD somewhere online.

I do have the Pirates disc, and that's what made me want more. I'm pretty sure the WWoC episode therein was a partial one, as there's some rather obvious jump cuts in it. The HM bit is available on Doombuggies, I think. I'd kill for another behind-the-scenes treasury (to go with the one I have).
Extinct Attractions Club has a variety of DVDs focusing on...well, Extinct Attractions, several of which featured AA's. The thing is, in order to receive these "free" DVDs, you gotta become a member and *ahem* donate.
