What Disney Movie Did You Just Watch? Vol. 3

Post by Timon/Pumbaa fan »

A note from your local site admin....

My only request is that we do not bother with title-only posts. If you want to do that, it sounds like something for Polls & Games, namely a big open-ended, non-stop poll. This forum is called "General Discussion" and this thread would be wonderful if everyone made an effort to share their thoughts on the Disney movie they just watched. You don't need to put colossal chunks of time into your post the way UD's reviewers do, but I don't think writing a few sentences or a paragraph for each title is asking too much.

Thanks!

The 3rd edition of the "What Disney Movie Did You Just Watch?" thread.

I haven't watched a Disney movie recently, but I did watch some DuckTales episodes in honor of it's release to DVD.[/quote]

The Lion King 1/2

I wouldn't have bought it since I hate sequels; the only ones I'v got are the Aladdin's ones. But since The Lion King 1/2 is not a sequel per se, I think of it as it is: a parody of TLK.

It is also the kind of movie you should watch when you just want to kill some time.

... sadly the movie starts out well and has very good moments but for the most part I think it fails on the jokes.

Muppets' Wizard of Oz

I really enjoyed it. There were many different scenes that just made me laugh out loud. It was cool seeing the diffrent guest stars, but I thought that the Quentin Tarrantino scene was just plain stupid. I like how every Muppet movie Disney does is an adaption of a famous story (Muppets' Treasure Island, Muppets' Christmas Carol, Muppets' Wizard of Oz) I am excited to see what Disney does next for the next big Muppet movie. "The Muppets' Around the World in 80 Days"? That would be interesting (and probably better than the 2004 Live Action Comedy)
We need season sets of all DCOSs and all DCOMs on DVD! And Better Cover Art!

1. I personally thought that the Quentin Tarrantino scene was the best part of the whole movie! It was the only scene in that movie that made me laugh out loud!

2. Muppets' Around the World in 80 Days? I don't think so. Wasn't the Disney movie with Jakie Chan bad enough for you?

I believe this is a Disney movie... I watched Remember the Titans a few days ago. I loved it. Very touching and a nice change of pace from the usual girly flicks Disney makes (live action movies that is). I'm anxious to see it again in the next few days!

Tarzan 2 was released in the UK on Monday, and overall i thought it was good, i didnt find it that noticeable that it was a different voice cast although im still wondering was it a total new voice cast or did some return for the sequel?
I didnt find the animation to look cheap looking and overall i felt it had a nice storyline, glad i brought it! :)

I just watched Darby O'Gill and the Little People.

It really is an underrated gem of the early age of Disney's live action films. The story is good but the best thing about this film is the special effects all done without the use of one single computer! It really is mind boggling and you really have to struggle to work out how they did it, even when you do actually know how they did it, it's still impossible to tell!
I thoroughly recommend this film to everyone and from me it gets a solid!

I bought Pocahontas on DVD (10th anniversary edition!) yesterday and watched it this morning. It's better than I remembered it being, the last time I saw it was in the theaters.
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

We had a Disney weekend in the Winger household and watched a number of good Disney films:

Melody Time - One of my favorites because of Johnny Appleseed and Pecos Bill and my wife really likes the Little Toot segment.

World's Greatest Athlete - Since this just came out on DVD it was fun to watch a very young Jan-Michael Vincent. Fun, family movie.

Robin Hood - My six-year-old grandson's favorite. Roger Miller songs are priceless.

Pirates of the Caribbean - Just one of the better Disney live-action films to come out in a long time.

The Parent Trap - The Original and the Best. Hayley Mills and Brian Keith, just a wonderful family film, far superior to the Lindsay Lohan version.

The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!

Fantasia

It was good. I enjoyed The Nutcracker Suite, Sorceror's Apprentice, and Night on Bald Mountain.

Return to Neverland

It was okay..better than I had expected. It was nice that they had spent more time on the backgrounds and animation than they did on some of the other sequels, but it was still missing something in the story.

Alice in Wonderland

Truly a great movie. If not great to most people at least they can't say it's just plain fun.

My favorite scene is the one with the caterpillar. Alice tries to talk to him and he doesn't care what she says and keeps her going in circles. And how he's always filling her face with smoke and how he yells at her.

As said before, it's far from a perfect movie but it sure deserves much more recognition that it got.

... I'm guessing this should be a great movie to experience drunk.

I finally watched my DVD of The Incredibles today. To tell the truth, when I first saw it, I was a little bit disappointed by all the hype over here at UD. However, on second viewing, I can see why as this film rocked! I personally adore the character designs and visual style. 8)

Ahhhh!!! I'm disappointed because it was my day off and I could only watch 2 Disney movies today. You see I was trying to finish my "Disney Marathon," and I thought I could do it today but nooo... I had to get my hair cut and go to the dump.
Anyways, the first movie I saw today was:
Pirates of the Carribean - I love this moive!!! That's pretty much all I can say about it. ;)
The Rescuers - It's another one of my favorite "Disney Classics," eventhough everytime I see it I think they could of extended it a little longer. Heck, Bambi was a breif movie but they pretty much got it all in 70 minutes. It's funny because Bambi and his mother is in The Rescuers too. I don't know why that's funny I just always point and laugh "haha there they are!!!"

Today, my best friend and her sister were over and they wanted to watch my old copy of Aladdin. Over the years I forgot how entertainng and fun this movie was. Simply great. It's too bad it doesn't get as much attention as Beauty & the Beast or The Lion King.

I gave The Incredibles another viewing, on Sunday. It is still just as good as when I first saw it. I enjoy this movie, every time I watch it. I am thinking about watching Toy Story and Toy Story 2, at some point this week.

I need to watch Pocahontas. I picked up the 2-Disc Special Edition, and still haven't watched it! I guess I'll do that sometime, this week.

The Best Of The Original Mickey Mouse Club

It's not really a move but it's the 5 best episodes. It was the first time that I had ever seen the Mickey Mouse Club with Annette and I really enjoyed it. There are some cartoons and singing. I liked the Hardy Boys short. It was really enjoyable to watch.

Mulan

:) It's a great Disney for one of the newer ones..I don't think I watched this movie as a kid. I saw it on the Disney Channel when I was 10 or so. I love it..all of the songs are great, it's funny, and it's nowhere near stupid.
