John Canemaker interview in the Wall Street Journal.
Animation Historian John Canemaker has an excellent article on Disney's decision to drop 2D animation in yesterday's Wall Street Journal

I'm really going to miss disney 2D animation. Maybe with Roy coming back we have a chance of getting it back??? Probably not. But here's to hoping.
The article is right...what WOULD walt think?
Smart business decision or not...Walt would never have traded the intensely creative 2D animated look for better box office sales.
The man bet all he had on Snow White not even knowing it would do well...
I'm not a happy disney fan right now.
P.S. The article says about how bad Brother Bear is....I actually REALLY enjoy Brother Bear. The story is deep and heart wrenching at times when Kenai has to break the news to Coda. It felt like Bambi all over again.
