Cinderella artwork

Post by mvealf »

The artwork in Japan is different than the U.S. for the Special Edition of Cinderella. I'm not sure how I like it yet:<p><img border="0" src="http://images-jp.amazon.com/images/P/B0 ... ZZZZZZ.jpg" width="355" height="500"></p>

Actually, if you wanna get technical, it isn't different. That image is on the box for the US giftset:

I wish Disney would make artsy covers like that for all their classics here in the States. One error they made, though (and I've seen Disney do this a lot), is that Cinderella's glass slippers had hearts on them, not bows. Still, that's just picking nits, I suppose.

Cinderella Artwork

Post by Disney Duster »

Disney is wierd. The artwork for that DVD is a lot like the artwork for the Collector's Set, but they changed the castle to look like the same castle in the U.S. DVD cover, and they changed the heart on the slipper to a bow. What's wrong with them?

That is so much better than the U.S. coverart. It looks more epic this way.

:o WOW its beautiful. I like it because it is so simple but yet so elegant.I think the US cover is to toonish or at least it is for my taste. But like the saying goes never judge a book by its cover. I am just excited about Cinderella coming out on DVD period. Thanks for posting it mvealf.

The Holland and Belgium Cinderella Cover

Post by Disney Duster »

Wow! I think the Holland and Belgium cover is quite nice, even though it looks almost exactly like the U.S. one. I like how it seems more spacious than the U.S. one.

Wow... just saw the complete press release of Cinderella. We in Holland will have a 1-disc version and a limited 2-disc version in a extra beautiful package. This is nice because Aladdin and Bambi were just like other DVD's (just a keepcase).

Out of curiosity, is there an image of the 2 disc set of Cinderella in Holland? ;)

This is the french cover of the single edition, the 2 discs special edition cover isn't different from your cover!

I don't get why some countries only gets a one disc release (or both one disc and two discs releases).

Kind of defeats the point of releasing them as platinum editions, doesn't it?

Most people (non-collectors) don't know they are Platinum Editions in other countries, so Disney uses that in their advantage ;)

Well, well...more countries just getting single disc releases of films when the USA gets a 2 disc release. Methinks that's racism in action. If your country is getting just a single disc release, import a 2 Disc copy if you can or forget about buying Cinderella altogether.
