I was actually thinking of her wearing the flower as a motif, not the Kumandra flower itself. I agree she probably won't be wearing the actual flower in the movie.Sotiris wrote:While I do think Raya will be connected to the Kumandra flower in some way, she is shown to be holding it in the doll set after all, I highly doubt she'll be wearing it as necklace or a bracelet.
That's a good point. That part is still confusing. The synopses make it seem the second Druun invasion happens right before Raya decides to go on a journey to find the last dragon. But then, how was her father killed if there was only one previous Druun attack which happened 500 years before?Sotiris wrote:However, if the Druun having been ruling since Raya was little then why has it suddenly become important to locate the dragon gem and the last dragon? What event in present day has caused this urgency?
Sotiris wrote:Maybe the fragments of the dragon gem will reside inside five special Kumandra flowers. I think that would be cool.
I think you could be right about that because finding both the flowers and the fragments of the gem seems like too much.
You're right, if they didn't choose a Polynesian singer for Moana, they probably won't pick a Southeast Asian one for Raya either. Though, most likely it'll be a singer of color, as you say.Sotiris wrote:I can't think of any at the top of my head. But I don't think Disney will require a Southeast Asian performer. They didn't seem to limit themselves before in this regard. They got Alessia Cara for Moana and she isn't Polynesian. They'll probably get a singer of color though to avoid any potential scrutiny.
I don't know, but some of the clans seem to have more than one color on their clothes, so maybe Raya's clan colors are both green (a different shade from the green clan) and blue.Sotiris wrote:So which color represents Raya's clan? It can't be green like the color of the outfits she and her father wore when addressing the rest of the clans since that's already taken. Is it blue like the color of the clothing she wore during training as a kid? It's got to be something otherwise it would be inconsistent.
Yes, it seems so. Though, maybe in the film the representatives just need to place the flowers around the dragon gem, for example, and not stand there themselves.Sotiris wrote:It seems that the representatives of the five clans (and possibly their Kumandra flowers) will be needed to activate the full powers of the dragon gem.
I guess you're right. After all, the outfits and everything else look exactly the same.Sotiris wrote:I think it's just the angle and the quality of the photos that makes it look a bit different.
