We are home. Some people may not want to reply to your post as they may not have anything valuable to say about it. All I have to say is that I like the idea of Alice in Wonderland 2 if they do it right by using the unused characters from the first movie that are in the books.

As for recycled versions of the original... how about the Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Scream.... the list of recycled sequels almost endless.
Well, in Jurassic Parc 2, the dinosaurs didn't open a human themepark did they? Well, Melody did want to go to the see while her mother wanted to go on earth... That's what i calla recylcled and cheap synopsis...
Just like Rescuing Woody in Toy Story 2 rather then Rescuing Buzz in Toy Story 1? Toy Story 2 even had Woody not wanting to be rescued, just as Buzz didn't in Toy Story 1 when he was "deluded".

Add to this the airport conveyor sequence in Toy Story 2 is just like the "Door Store" chase in Monsters, Inc.

And in fact, Finding Nemo is nothing more than a Pixar's Greatest Hits.

Nemo is kidnapped
Just like Woody is in Toy Story 2, or Boo is in Monsters, Inc

Rescue Quest for Nemo
Just like Woody's quest for Buzz, Buzz's quest for Woody, or Sully's quest for Boo

Mis-Matched "Buddy" team up
Like Buzz and Woody, Sully and Mike

One of the buddies has "mental problems"
and hinders the quest, just like Buzz did in Toy Story 1.

Nemo is confined to area with scary characters
in the aquarium, just like Sid's toys scare Woody and Buzz in TS1

... but scary characters end up helping the character
just like Sid's toys do

A child who isn't really evil, just acting like a child adds urgency to the plot
Just like Woody and Buzz have to escape Sid before his test rocket, Nemo has to escape Darla before he becomes her pet.

And yet to seem to like Pixar (we won't even go into how The Incredibles is more than just a homage to The Fantastic Four). In fact, the trailer for Cars even features a joke the same as in The Incredibles (characters speeding and getting flies stuck on their teeth).

Nothing is original. Nothing.

Flip-flopping the narrative doesn't mean the sequel story will be weaker. Having some of the same elements, but rejigged is expected of a sequel (people expect some resembelence to the original film). If you dismiss a sequel purely on it's premise, then 99% of all sequels need to be rejected.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Then you can also say that all books are unoriginal because they all contain the same theme from the first masterpiece then right? Seing as how Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Romeo and Juliet, The Catcher in the Rye and more contains themes from The Odyssey which makes all of them is unoriginal huh? Well it looks to me they all have different plots from each other. They are called themes, for example: "Kidnapping vs. Quest for Saving". So don't go around calling Pixar non-original cause yeah sure they contain the same theme, but that is not what makes a good movie. The plot and characters are all what makes the movies good.

is not about the event the most important of a book, but how does this affect to the main characters, their lives and even how it´s told to the public.

I shouldn't be called Alice in Wonderland 2. It should be called Alice Through The Looking Glass as that was the name of the sequel to the book.

The secret with those movies shown is that no matter how you anylize them, fact is more managed to enjoy "remakes" of Toy Story I than a [poor] remake of The Little Mermaid. Why is that? Probably for many reasons. I can think of a few myself: Great scripts, great acting, each story took the best of the previous and built something better on it, and yes, even good animation is a reason. Making that comparission is not the same thing and I'm sure you know it.

A sequel certanly should have some relation t the very first, but if is totally abuot the first movie is very dificult to be a succesfull.

And I don´t mean that it should be a totally diferent story, but to continue it trying to avoid being the same plot of the first one just than upside-downed
