I've never seen the stage version (besides the WDW show + a kids' theater one); did the objects' costumes slightly change throughout the show?

In the movie, the enchantress places a spell onto the Beast and turns everyone in the castle into objects. In the musical, she only starts them on the course of transforming as the petals fall off the rose. And once we figured that out, everything changed.”

Yes. For example, Lumiere starts with normal hands (or maybe just regular candles), then at some point he gets candles (or candles that now light up) instead. I know there are other examples but it's been too long.

I can hardly express how much I LOVED the Malmö operas house.s production of Beauty and The Beast !!

It was one of the best live stage musicals I have seen i my ENTIRE LIFE !

The website says that the show is currently at Tokyo. My honeymoon is in october and we are going to Japan. I would love to watch it but I can not find more information!

It's still one of my favorite pieces of Disney trivia that Susan Egan didn't herself see the animated Beauty and the Beast until after she had been cast.

Anyways, I still need to see some version of this "wordsmithed" and "modernized" update to the show to gauge whether it was they just Emma Watsoned all the joy out of the story.

I saw the UK tour and the character is almost the same. I didn't see much changes on Belle.
