I was able to get my early copy of Sleeping Beauty as well. Here's a picture of me with the cover.

Great photo! You look happy in it. Wow... what a treat to get an early copy. I'm sure you enjoyed it.

Maybe you could comment on the quality of the sound. I've asked this question before to others who've seen the new print and have not gotten an answer yet... Is there more bass in the sound of the new audio mix? Previous releases on video/dvd had no bass or low end in the sound mix at all.

Can't wait for the Blu Ray guys!

Believe me the jump in video/sound is truly worth it I was never one for the extra features, I just want the picture and sound to look their best!

Thank you so much for the beautiful scans! Hopefully, Disney have done a good job and we will all be content with the picture and sound on this release...

This will be the DVD/Blu-ray-release of the year! I have not been looking forward as much as this to a Disney-release since The Little Mermaid was released back in 2006.

I am hoping that Disney did not re-dubb the non-English versions of the movie. They would never re-dubb the original version, that would have been to much for fans, but it seems like they can do whatever they want with the non-English versions. Disney better keep the Norwegian-dub of Sleeping Beauty that I have on my VHS and DVD-versions!

It depends on the studio, really. Paramount is pretty good about sending out screeners early, hence the reviews of titles like Transformers and Iron Man being up weeks before release. Disney titles currently go through a middle man at Blu-ray.com, so if Sleeping Beauty arrives late this week, the additional shipping turnaround to me would mean I'd get it by next week. Just an example though... I'm not sure when it will arrive exactly. :p

I'll be sure to take a few shots of the exclusive featurettes, then - summary of the content will be included in the review of course. ;)

I would very much like to know one thing:
Is "Grand Canyon" presented in anamorphic widescreen on the new dvd.
Or is it still letterboxed as on the 2003 dvd.
And has it been restored a bit at all?

Her dress is blue in every Brair Rose merchandise, look for exmaple for the Sleeping Beauty And Friends CD,Brair Rose plush,Brair Rose nightgown for little girls,it's always purple, not in the DVD but in the merchandise it's purple, you also said that.

Ahh I am so excited for this, Sleeping Beauty has always been a favorite of mine however I have never unlike most of the animated classics owned an official copy of the film. Instead when I was younger I had this and Alice in Wonderland taped off the TV together on the same VHS, which I would watch again and again. I also recently found this and watched them both lol, but the quality as expected was terrible. Annnnyway back on to the subject, I just preordered my copy today from Play.com and it comes with an Exclusive Pop-Up Packaging which looks quite nice. The bonus features look quite good too, does anyone have any imformation on the so called "Princess Facts" as in does this mean for all of the princesses or just Aurora?

The 101 Dalmatians PE had a Animale Facts or something like that, maybe it's something like "A princess should wear her put her tiara on with right hand and not left hand"?.
And yeah,Sleeping Beauty and Enchanted are my favorites after The Little Mermaid (And after them it's Cinderella and The Nightmare Before Christmas).

Well Little Mermaid will always be my favorite, I love everything about it. After that though I don't really have an order because so many Disney Classics have a place in my heart including the likes of Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Snow White, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast etc. the list goes on and on........

Being as its presented in HD on the Blu-ray, I expect the DVD to be a new, restored transfer which is widescreen enhanced.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Found a blu-ray capture with bd-live chat enabled. As you can tell, it's much bigger due to the larger image information. (The pic is really compressed though, so artifacting can be seen.)

Sleeping Beauty DVD Preview

Post by Disney Duster »

I think some old and some new, probably more old. I just know I've seen it, Sprince.

Thatartguy, that's not an actual screenshot of what it will look like. That is a fake image of the movie. It is a giant promotional image. Only the chat window may be what it actually will look like.

EDIT: Sprince beat me to it!

One question about the Blu-Ray chat features.

Does this means that many Blu-Ray players come equipped with a modem for online access?

I know the PS3 is already online enabled, but I didn't known standard Blu-Ray players also had a modem.

Regarding the live chat feature: I know it seems obtrusive but I think its pretty neat.

One time, me and my best friend had this idea called "Alone Together Movie Night". The idea is that using a high speed internet connection, maybe a web cam, a chat room and maybe a telephone everyone connects at the same time and watches the movie from the comfort of their home, but since they are connect you can hear the comments and thoughts of the other members, meaning that you were alone, but at the same time together with your friends.

This feature takes our idea. Wouldn't it be cool to have the ultimate viewing party with the UD crew?
