I don't own it on DVD, but, I do remember watching it, when it was on television. I really enjoyed it. It's been a while since I saw it. However, I would think it would be worth owning, especially if you are a Lucy fan. I'm eventually going to pick it up on DVD.

It's in Complete Sixth Season and the Complete Series. The episode is in B/W with a bonus being the Christmas segments of this clipshow (is that like the 1st one ever?) in Color.

I'm pretty sure I've told you this before, but my drama teacher is friends with Whoopi. Not only that, but I found out a few days ago that they used to be roomies! I thought that was awesome.

Anywho, sorry to change the subject. I just figured you might like to know. :)

Well I would say that they're still friends, but it's more of a call-and-say-hello-every-now-and-then type of relationship.

Wow, that's a lot of hyphens!

So is the complete series worth getting? I have it on my Christmas list but I am having doubts about it when I already own season two and three. The movie is only three episodes put together instead of an orginal movie? Do you think it will be released later separate?

Also if anyone is a Sams member, you can the complete series there for $132.99 or somewhere in that price range.

:)

It's very much worth having. It's the best DVD Set I've purchased in a long time. First, having every single episode, packaged together, in one place, is a big plus. Also, the Season 1 episodes have been digitally remastered, so, they look as good as the rest of the seasons. The "I Love Lucy" movie is three episodes put together, yes, but, there were new scenes filmed for it, and it ties the episodes together well. It even gives you a peak at what it was like to be an audience member, watching them actually tape it. It's an awesome addition. On top of that, the other new Bonus Features are great to have, as well. Even if you own Season 2 and 3, you can sell those off, or trade them for something else you want. Having the whole series is much better than just having a couple of seasons. I don't think you can go wrong getting this set as a gift. I am extremely pleased with my set, and I paid for it! Very well worth the purchase, in my opinion.

So, potterrules93 and Anthony....I assume by now you have your Complete Series set. I'm interested to know what your thoughts on it are? I am extemely satisfied with my set, and can't quit watching the episodes, although I've seen them all dozens of times.

all i can say about this set is wow! i absolutly love the set. i havent had a chance to watch any epsiodes yet (except for the vitameatvegamin ep.) bu i have watched the bonus disk. the colorized epsiode looks like it was shot in color. i didnt watch the full movie but watched the majourity and must say, it looks like the 3 epsiodes were shot to be together. overall i give this set 9.5/10 because the material the book is made of(with epsiode summaries and such) is not very strong. other then that i highly suggest the set.

Well I absolutely love this set!! The geek that I am, I must watch the episodes in order. So I'm currently on Season 3, Disc 3 (although I cheated a bit and peeked ahead to season 6 to watch the Christmas episode). Although I've seen every episode of the series before, the restoration on them look stunning. I've never seen the show look so clear and sharp. It's also nice to have all the complete episodes the way they originally aired on CBS in the 50's.

I watched the bonus DVD as well. Fascinating stuff. I loved the footage of Vivian Vance winning her Emmy and Lucy and Desi's acceptance speech when they won Best Comedy. And the "Lucy Goes to Scotland" colorized episode, while a bit jarring to see at first, was a real treat (although I'll always prefer I Love Lucy in black & white).

This is, without a doubt, worth every penny and by far the best Complete Series DVD set that has ever been released. I can't wait 'til I get to the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hours (season 7-9). They sound great and I've never seen any of them before.

big bump! i am now on the last disk of of season 3..i know i have not been watching a lot of anything now because of schools and such, but i am wondering if in the black wig epsiode, it seems like a line has been cut. when lucy is talking to her hairdresser and they are talking about men, lucy says something about the only thing mean have is and then it cuts off, is this just my set or is it the epsiode? thanks

I checked my copy last night, and like you said, there's that abrupt cut-off of the line. I think it may be intentional, and that it's meant to show the hairdresser interrupting Lucy.

Either that or a really bad editing gaffe that until now went unnoticed for over 50 years!

I picked this great set up about 10 days ago, for $30.49!!!

Well, kind of... :P

I found it used at FYE, although I have picked up a couple of complete series sets from them that were "used," but still in the shrink wrap...

Retail price (according to FYE) = $199.99, or even $259.99 or something
Used Price = I think it was around $139.99
- 40% off coupon, ALSO my 10% member discount = 68.04
Then, I traded in some stuff, and got $37.55 in store credit.
So, I only had to pay $30.49 in cash! :pink:

Thanks to those 40% FYE coupons (in a local newspaper) I've also picked up these complete sets:
Land of the Giants complete series (used) - $78.30
M*A*S*H - Martinis & Medicine complete series ("used" but sealed)- $68.04
Full House: The Complete Series ("used" but sealed) - $58.32
