I'm not in a relationship, never have had a serious one. I am a firm believer of sex should only be between two people who truely love each other (not two people who were necking at the tavern)

I am going to be a Nurse Anesthetist (The guy that puts you to sleep during surgery)

I fell down on stage at graduation for $5

I am probably the goofiest guy you'd ever meet, I'm a big guy but often refered to as a "teddy bear", unless I dislike you.

I dislike people who use Gods name in vein

I've been deer hunting 3 years and never successfully shot one.

I'd rather watch movies and hang out with friends at home that do just about anything else.

*SHOCKER* - Bambi is my favorite film of all time, not just because I'm an avid deer enthusiast, but because of its music and story mainly.

and finally, I study way more than any normal human should, but hey..Have to get into Medical (Anesthesia) school somehow ..
"There is another who is over us all, over us and over man"

Maybe it's time for a new hobby? :P

Random Fact #896034: I have a huge supply of Disney pens (the white ones with the gold banner saying "Walt Disney Resorts") all over my house, thanks to continually picking them up at work and leaving them in my pocket. I can't write with any other pen anymore, it always has to be a Disney pen!

I'm afraid I've been screwed in the Trade forum :(

I also love to wear Threadless shirts.

And I am ashamed of my very small Disney DVDs collection ;) (Only 4 DACs, 1 Pixar, and POTC 1... but oh well! It grows over time!)

I have some similar random facts to some of the other posters....
bambifan56 wrote:I'd rather watch movies and hang out with friends at home that do just about anything else.
I like mixing the two together. I try to go to the movies with my friends at least once every two weeks, maybe more, or going to their houses and bringing some of my DVD's that they have not seen.

Our family tends to travel a lot, and whenever we stay in a hotel, it's 95% of the time always a Mariott chain hotel. I always snatch the pen and have a bunch around my house. :P

Exact same thing with me.

Some more random facts:

*I believe that I look better with shaggier hair and facial hair. I try to channel Jason Lee, if he were obese and had glasses. ;)

*I rarely have friends over to my house because it's such a mess and I always get kind of embarrassed. The only time friends come over is to swim.

*Speaking of that, when I say "friends", it's usually the same group being referred to. I don't have many IRL friends because, well in case you didn't notice, I'm kind of cranky. :P

*I use emoticons way more than I should.

*Although I curse like a sailor, I hate it when my LDS friends curse. I've been around my family far too much and it's like a disease for me.

*If I had it my way, I would move out of my parents house immediately after high school. Of course, almost all the DVD's would go with me. ;)

Sure, JKR is my mom and she always writes more Harry Potter stories for me

No, seriously,6 in German, 6 in English and the two books that JKR wrote too (Fantastic Beasts and where to find them and Quidditch through the ages)
That would actually make 14.

When I worked in retail sales I beat the record for achieving manager status for the district I worked in at the time. It may be broken now but I became a manager, of an unnamed retail chain, within four months of hire. The average was eight months to two years. I also was consistently in the top ten for sales within my district. I won a ski vacation for largest percentage increase in sales for my store and learned how to ski in Durango, Colorado. I love skiing but have not skied ever since I moved away from mountain country. My hope is to move back to the mountains in the near future and take up skiing again.

Oh another random fact...I learned how to ski in only one lesson. I took to it like a duck takes to water and my instructer told me to head to the slopes.

You beat me! I have the 6 UK/Canada ones, FBaWtFT and QTtA, plus Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (which is the US version). That's 9. I'd get the French versions if I didn't hate them so much ;)

Nice facts guys...that was a long read!

Depressive facts about me:

-I suffer from a rather developed case of OCD. I have a phobia of germs, but my OCD normally kicks in as a psychological tormentor, where I might spend a whole day haunted by a particular thought, normally revolving around religious or moral themes. I also have Asperger's Syndrome. One of its symptoms is my obsession of everything Disney. I sometimes drive my brother crazy talking about Meet the Robinsons or Rapunzel. I used to suffer from a depression.

-I live alone with my dad. My mum passed away 4 years ago when I was 13.

-I'm a bit overweight.

Good or other facts:

-I am 6 feet 2 inches tall, and seem to be one of the talletst guys in my country. All my life I've been the tallest in class...more than the teacher. I'm the tallest in my family. When I'm at Church, I'm the tallest. When at a village feast I'm the tallest...

-I am a pianist and have been studying the pianoforte for 10 years. Unfortunately, I have been held back in my theory exams, in that I just sat for my Grade 6 ('O' Level) Theory exam. When it comes to practical exams, I've achieved till Grade 8 ('A'Level) with a 94/100 (Honours). I study with the board called LCM (London College of Music and Media). I am currently studying for my DipLCM - the first diploma for the practical exams. After I get that, I'll have the ALCM, LLCM and the FLCM diplomas yet to do.

-I can also play the piano in a special way. When I hear a piece of music, I have the ability to instantly reproduce it on the piano...improvise it in a way. This way, I've made my own arrrangements of several Disney songs like "Part of Your World" or "God Help the Outcasts", other music like Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5" and "Pastoral Symphony" and even video game music like "One-Winged Angel" from Final Fantasy VII. Unfortunately not everyone has this ability, and I'm quite lucky. I am also perfect pitch.

-If you knew me personally your first impressions of me would probably be generally good, and you'd think of me as a quiet and shy person. You would be SOOO wrong! I can be the goofiest and most eccentric of your friends on Earth! My own friends never seem to get used to me. ;)

-Besides Disney, I love the Final Fantasy VII video game, Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, vynil LPs, the Commodore 64, and the Just William books by British writer Richmal Crompton. (I don't care if William is for children...I love those books!!)

-I am shit at sports.

-I love my imagination. I wish I could find a better means of expressing it.

-I love UD and all its members.

-I am feeling uneasy at having revealed that I have Asperger's Syndrome.

-My favourite food is pizza. My second favourite is pasta with green pesto.

-I always wish Malta were a better country (more developed).

-I'm proud of my national language (Maltese).

-I'm afraid of aliens (please don't laugh) and simultaneously fascinated by them, so you might find me watching an alien film, enjoying it and getting scared to death at the same time. Mel Gibson's "Signs" affected me very badly. I watched it about a year ago, and it gave me nightmares for about 3 days.

That's interesting. I just read a book in my English class about a kid with Asperger's syndrom ("The curious incident of the dog in the nightime)
It was a real interesting read and my English teacher asked us if knew anyone who had Asperger's and now I know that I do!!
You're such a cool kid, Julian, so you don't have to feel uneasy.

Don't be Julian! Most people suffer from something whether they publicly confess to it or not. Some people are compulsive liars, others addicts or have severe moral failings. I think your courageous in telling us.

I have suffered from depression on and off my whole life. I recently had my worst episode though and was unable to work for 4 1/2 months. The first two months I could hardly function. My wife even had to take me to all my doctor appointments. None of the medications the doctor prescribed worked for me but only made me worse. Fortunately I have found some help through an alternative treatment and have improved greatly but not fully. Movies like Disney make have helped me through some of my darkest moments.

Well, did you at least see anything. It's one thing not to get anything but to actually see something than not see anything at all.

Well, you know that's hunting. You should come here to Colorado, there are tons of deer here. There's so many deer you can actually by two licenses. My friend and I went deer hunting this year and we're rookie deer hunters we got up to this meadow at a quarter after 6 AM. We're walking along heading towards the meadow until I see this stump. I looked closer and it's ear's twitched, I was like "why that's not a stump at all!" My friend like a rookie drew his gun up quickly and I don't know why it was a doe we were after bucks. Any ways they got scared and bounded away. It's cool to watch mule deer because they get all four of there legs up in the air like it's flies in the woods. Then that afternoon we finally saw a buck but it was in private land so we couldn't shoot it. We just watched it; watching it mock us that furry bastard, he's going down next year and hopefully he's a little bigger because he was just a little spike.

Wow! OMG!! I read that book aswell!! It was a reading task for English Language about 2 years ago. I hated it! At first it was interesting and different, but it eventually catapulted me into a state of gloom and depression, especially with Chris' character. He seemed so robotic and almost devoid of emotion!

When I read that book, I did not yet know I had Asperger's Syndrome. When I was at my Psychiatrist about 9 months later, he revealed to me that he has diagnosed me with the condition. I remember I almost fell out of my chair. I told him how I had read that book earlier in the year, and how I was nothing like the protagonist. I walked out of that session really shocked and stunned.

Dottie, I so want to reach out and hug you right now! You have such a way with people. Your posts warm my heart.

Edit: Ktrek, it feels goof to see such caring messages. Thank you for your concern. :) I can fully emphatize with what you have been true. I can imagine, as I have been true it myself (to a degree, at least). I hate depression! I created the worst part of my life!

I wish there was a hug emoticon, you'd get one now for being sooooooo nice!!

I didn't like the book that much either. Chris the protagonist felt so, uhhmm, weird, as you said robotic, to me. It felt like he was in trance all the time.
The book felt unreal to me. Later when we had finished the book we read some poems written by people with Asperger's Syndrome and they seemed much more "normal" and not at all like this kid in the book.

This thread is pretty cool. I know a lot more about some UDers than I ever found in all the other "Introduce yourself"-or whatever threads.
