Rather than waste this post with an "I've updated my original list", I figured it'd be easier for my Secret Santa to simply read this new one.
Dear Secret Santa,
Hi there! How is your weekend going so far? Mine was pretty good, except for when I had to help rake leaves in our yard. Huge yard. Didn't like it much. Anyways, this is my first, and hopefully last update to my list, with things removed, a few things added, and a whole second list that can be considered an unnecessary extention that you don't need to base your gift on. Hope it makes your task easier now, but if you already got something, that's great too! Makes the rest of the season easier for you! Yay! I still need to get the gift for my Secret Cindy Lou Who and already have an idea of what it'll be.
Plus, I've noticed that now everyone's leaving actual letters here. Isn't it great that we've started a trend?
Anyways, the new list...

I removed these either because they are not in the recommended price range, or because there's a slight possibility I may buy it myself. Or, because I can do without them for a little while longer. Still, consider these the unofficial extended edition of my wishlist, though it'd be easier to adhere to the new official edition up top.
ANNOUNCEMENT

People can expect to start receiving their Secret Santa gifts as early as next week. When the first person to receive theirs does so, would they be so kind as to start a new thread titled "Secret Santa - Post When You Receive"? In the thread, participants are encouraged to reveal who their Secret Santa was and what they received from them. That's typically the next and final stage of this process, and it's usually the most fun (though thanks to Escapay and others, this thread has gotten pretty clever too).
I'm going through this thread and contacting anyone who hasn't posted a list to confirm that they've got their Secret Santa assignment and to prompt them to hurry up in posting their wishlist.

Dear Secret Cindy Lou Who,
Hi there, this is your Secret Santa. How have you been? I hope you've been a good little boy or girl. You must be excited with the holiday season now upon us. Speaking of the holiday season, I just bought your gift. I hope you'll like it and that you'll post when you get it.
So that means that if you have done one of the following, you really should stop:
1. Not posted your wishlist. (so don't bother posting it anymore)
2. Posted your wishlist but never bothered editing it. (so don't bother thinking about editing it)
3. Posted your wishlist and edited it a couple times. (so don't bother editing it again)
4. Posted your wishlist and edited it several times over. (so don't bother editing it again and again)
Bwahaha. That could mean anybody here except me!
Anyways, Secret Cindy Lou Who, Thanksgiving is in a couple days, and if you celebrate it or not, have fun and eat mashed potatoes.
Escapay
Dear Secret Santa,
You didn't think I'd finish this post without a letter for you, did you?
Today was a good day for me. I climbed a ladder and lifted a couple weights, not at the same time, of course. I had a Friend-Z at the mall, and got my Amazon order in the mail!
How have you been? Excited for Thanksgiving? Or stressed out about what to get for everyone else in your life besides little old me? I'm looking forward to mashed potatoes. My dad's trying a new recipe this year, if I like it, I'll e-mail it to you once I know who you are, lol.
Anyways, have a great and filling Thanksgiving, don't spend too much on Black Friday, and tell disneyboy20022 and Bill (dvdjunkie) that they get to have an awesome Thanksgivings since Bill will get to be on his awesome feet and disneyboy20022 will be in his awesome home instead of the totally-not-awesome hospital. (And if you don't understand the joke, check out dvdjunkie's grumpy thread).

To my Cindy Lou Who, I just ordered your gifts via Amazon. They'll be shipped on Tuesday and should arrive in Whoville the week of December 4th through the 8th. I know you'll love half of your gift, but the other half is a bit riskier. It's something I feel everyone who's a fan of this genre needs to own. Hopefully the reason you don't have it is because you've never experienced it rather than experiencing it and hating it. Still, I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't enjoy it. Have fun stuffing your face with turkey this weekend...that is unless you're a vegetarian. If so, then stuff your face with...um...salad? Either way, have fun!

And of course, just because I had to mention Mashed Potatoes, I must now leave another letter, though I'll make it very brief.
Dear Secret Santa,

Pay no attention to Kelvin. He's just mad because he forgot the mashed potatoes. I actually found a rather unique recipe for them, and I'm pretty sure it's NOT the one my dad's gonna use on Thursday. But I might use it one of these days, just as an experiment. Here ya go!
Mashed Potato Fudge!!!
(Sounds vile, but then again, people mix tofu into chocolate mousse pie and I don't see them complaining!)

Speaking of Mashed Potatoes (sorry that I'm going a little off topic here), but I have the ultimate, best recipe for potatoes ever!!! I"m not kidding, you don't need any blenders and they are so creamy! You don't need any gravy and they are so flavorful!! Well, if anyone is interested in experimenting, this is an easy recipe so happy holidays
INGREDIENTS:
6-8 Red Potatoes (washed, but with skin left on......trust me)
1 stick of butter (I know it is a lot, but this is comfort food!)
1/3-1/2 cup of heavy cream (this is something that is to your taste type of thing)
a handful of fresh chives chopped(I usually buy green onions, because they are cheaper and chop up the back ends of them and clean them....they seem to have a crisper flavor)
a handful of fresh basil chopped
salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste
STEPS:
1. Wash the potatoes and boil them with the skin on.
2. Once they are cooked so that they slide off the fork (about 30-45 minutes), drain them and return them to the boiling pot. Mash them with a hand masher.
3. Add the butter and cream and continue to mash them.
4. Add the chives and basil and, using the masher, blend it all in/mash them.
5. Salt and Pepper to taste.
6. Eat the best mashed potatoes on the entire planet.....no gravy......no blender....just good, old fashioned, home cooked, elegant potatoes.
These are my favorite mashed potatoes. I whole-heartedly recommend them. When anyone tries these, be sure and let me know what they think. They make you want to sit back, relax and smile.

I"m not kidding, you don't need any blenders and they are so creamy! You don't need any gravy and they are so flavorful!! Well, if anyone is interested in experimenting, this is an easy recipe so happy holidays![]()
Ok.... Only on this forum could a UD Secret Santa Wish List Thread turn into a thread about Mashed Potatoes.......

Anyways...
Dear Secret Santa aka (ERASED FROM COLLECTIVE MEMORY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - Thank You, the Time Lords),
This is Escapay from 2007 and I used my TARDIS to go back to this day to leave an early thank you letter.
Thank you so much for (ERASED FROM COLLECTIVE MEMORY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - Thank You, the Time Lords). I was so surprised to get it and totally didn't expect it! I had expected to get (ERASED FROM COLLECTIVE MEMORY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - Thank You, the Time Lords), but getting (ERASED FROM COLLECTIVE MEMORY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - Thank You, the Time Lords) was even better! You are now my new hero and to reward you, here's the winning Powerball Lottery Numbers for the first week of December 2006, consider it an early Christmas present!
Five Numbers: (ERASED FROM COLLECTIVE MEMORY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - Thank You, the Time Lords)
Powerball: (ERASED FROM COLLECTIVE MEMORY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - Thank You, the Time Lords)

Hey Luke,
Could you resend info on my SS assignment? Thanks!

Dear Santa,
Hello! Hope my Secret Santa gift is going well! I can't wait to get it. Minus minor sins and flaws, I have been(or at least tried) to be a very good boy this year!
To be honest, I really am not too sure why I'm writing to you. Well actually, I DO know why, I'm writing to try and jump than bandwagon and get attention for myself, I just don't know many original, unique, nice and funny things to say other than talk about my gift. Well, I'll try and tackle each thing at once:
original: Well, er, well nice weather we're having isn't it? Is it still cold up there in the North Pole? If so, Al Gore really is a stupid liar isn't he?
*crosses "original" off the list*
unique: Well, err, I like Mash Potatoes as well. But it's the cookies that count, right? I'll be sure to get them at some point for ya!
*crosses out "unique" off the list*
nice: You're looking good this year! Love your outfit! Looks kinda familiar though, did you wear it last year?
*crosses out "nice" off the list*
funny: Errrr, well what better way than to end a lette with a joke? Okay, why did the Santa Claus cross the road? *Pause* Answer: To get to the UD member on the other side!
er, ha ha?
*crosses out "funny" off the list*
Well, hope you enjoyed this letter! You a great spirt! Merry Christmas!
