I think he meant that the Aladdin set is quite good (with the exception of the games, which I've done once in 2004 and haven't done since), as opposed to The Lion King which is really a disappointing Platinum.PeterPanfan wrote:Ariel's Prince earlier you said you didn't like Aladdin and now you're saying you do?

As far as movies go, I haven't even opened Lady and the Tramp simply because I'm not a fan of that movie. I wish they would have made that one of the later Platinum Editions to be released. The only Platinum Edition I'm excited for (coming up) is Sleeping Beauty in Fall 2008, so I would have loved for their release times to have been switched.

wel there are a couple of PEs that have disapointed me - obv Lion King was a disapointment for the obv reasons, Cinderella too - the picture was hurrendous, Little Mermaid - you call those special features? but overall Lion King was the worst. yes, it had a lot of bonus features but navigation was terrible, repitition annoying and i cannot get over the alterations to the film itself!!!!

What? i think The Little Mermaid was the best Platinum Edition ever,no stupid games or other nonsense (like the thing with that annyoing little girl in the Cinderella PE),intersting stuff about the film and beyond,i"m very disagree wth you.Beast_enchantment wrote:Little Mermaid - you call those special features?
Cinderella is also good exept a few stupid features (like with that annyiong little girl and etc.).
Again-The Lion King was the worse one of all,it only has stupid games and etc. and this new song was really dumb.

i was very disapointed with the Little Mermaid PE. they could have included alot more material. the making of spent the majority talking about the state of the disney sudios before the film. yes, this was extremely interesting and i did enjoy it, but the documentray didnt spend long enough talking about the actual film. when i began to watch it i got very excited becuase they were so in-depth discussing that the animation studios were about to be closed and i had high hopes for the rest of it but when it came to talking about the actual film it was too brief. they did a half-assed job with this release. a handful of deleted scenes and a crappy virtual ride. the highlight of the DVD was the story behind te story detailing Hans Christian Anderson. but apart from that i was very disapointed. with Platinum editions i always compare them to the first 2 (snow white, BATB) and they alawys win, with the exception of Aladdn! this one certainly lost!Ariel'sprince wrote:What? i think The Little Mermaid was the best Platinum Edition ever,no stupid games or other nonsense (like the thing with that annyoing little girl in the Cinderella PE),intersting stuff about the film and beyond,i"m very disagree wth you.

Overall i loved the DVD but i agree with you about the comentary and behind the sences (which is why i didn't really liked it,it's just about Disney and not really about the films itself.Beast_enchantment wrote:i was very disapointed with the Little Mermaid PE. they could have included alot more material. the making of spent the majority talking about the state of the disney sudios before the film. yes, this was extremely interesting and i did enjoy it, but the documentray didnt spend long enough talking about the actual film. when i began to watch it i got very excited becuase they were so in-depth discussing that the animation studios were about to be closed and i had high hopes for the rest of it but when it came to talking about the actual film it was too brief. they did a half-assed job with this release. a handful of deleted scenes and a crappy virtual ride. the highlight of the DVD was the story behind te story detailing Hans Christian Anderson. but apart from that i was very disapointed. with Platinum editions i always compare them to the first 2 (snow white, BATB) and they alawys win, with the exception of Aladdn! this one certainly lost!Ariel'sprince wrote:What? i think The Little Mermaid was the best Platinum Edition ever,no stupid games or other nonsense (like the thing with that annyoing little girl in the Cinderella PE),intersting stuff about the film and beyond,i"m very disagree wth you.
The deleted sences were allight altought i whould like to see more things about Ariel and some deleted sences were bad (espicailly that ending,it was just horrible),the Early Presantional Reel was much better.
The Virtual Ride was very good.
Anyway it's a good DVD.
Aladdin was bad?.

Well, over time, I got bored watching Snow White and Cinderella so they are my «least favorite» platinum edition BUT I have to admit that Snow White is certainly the best platinum release ever in terms of bonus material. The Lion King, even though it's one of my favorite movie, wasn't the best platinum release.
I still haven't watch the bonus feature on the Peter Pan, The Jungle Book and The Little Mermaid DVDs (I'm so behind...). I can't comment on those ones.
