Curiosity got the best of me and I clickety-clicked the link. I am not pleased.
Seeing Paxton as Marnie is more disappointing here than before. Then again, KJB is lucky to not have done this movie, as it looks like a tired retread of the former films. They all have the same type of plot, a person or group is trying to take over and be supreme ruler(s).
Halloweentown - Kalabar tries taking over Halloweentown
Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge - Kal takes over Halloweentown, tries to destroy/take over Earth
Halloweentown High - Ethan's dad and some knight try and purge magic from Earth, restricting it to Halloweentown (which itself is a conspicuous no-show, and after thinking about it, this is the only one that's not a hostile takeover story)
Return to Halloweentown - a group of school witches and warlocks try to take over the whole town using Marnie's magic.
You'd think they'd find more creative ways to portray Halloweentown. Too many movies of them attempting to take over a place would give it a bad name.
And Lucas Grabeel...he's only seen like 3 times in that trailer and yet he got star billing over Paxton and Zimmerman. Guy must have an awesome agent.

hey thanks SofaKing381222. I actually thought it looked good! much more interesting then the first trailer made it seem, but sara paxton still isn't looking to good in this role. In most of her other parts like in aquamarine she a really fun energy and a real glem in her eye but in the trailer she looks really lifeless and boring, it could be the character but in the old movies when Kimberly J. Brown played her she seemed extremly happy and peppy all the time. So anyway I hope it doesn't suck.

He's done a pretty good job outside of Disney, too. Saw him a couple times on Veronica Mars, and I think once on Boston Legal. All he needs to do is guest star on Law & Order SVU and he'll be a-ok in my book (Ricky Ullman was on SVU once as a teenage rapist and I gained a whole new respect for his craft beyond Disney material).

Okay if any of us had doubts before that trailer...totally layed the smacketh down on us...
It looks AWESOME! Soo many things about that trailer show that they decided to up the ante for this HT sequel...
Prophecies? Ancient Time Travel? Conspiracy to destroy the cromwell line? This is going to be excellent...the cinematography even looked great...i dont even mind kim.j brown anymore...but i am very dissapointed
at the no aggie...which obviously must mean she will be a surprise guest in the third act...and the fact that there is no sophie at all...
all in all this movie is going to be great...very surprised at the really late release date though...less than 2 weeks before halloween? Odd.

I was like, what the heck are you talking about. I've been deprived of the Disney Channel since school started so I haven't seen a newer trailer. I Youtubeoogled for a fuller trailer and found one:psifreek27 wrote:Prophecies? Ancient Time Travel? Conspiracy to destroy the cromwell line? This trailer pretty much scared the crap out of me. Halloweentown seems to become more sophisticated with each additional movie. The first one it was very cartoony and child friendly, and now it's really different. I like it so far and I can't wait to see it! October 20th, I'm going home!!!! lol!
I liked the line with the allusion to the non-Disney property

psifreek27- I don't know how to take your post...sarcasm? If so, great job, fooled me! If not, I'm excited too!
Escapay- I agree! If an actor can score an appearance on Law & Order, they have earned my respect. I just saw an episode with Wilson Germaine Heredia (Angel from RENT), and was like, "cool!"

I think the most impressive I've seen of a Disney Channel to Law & Order actor was the kid from Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off, not the main character, but the best friend. He was in Buffalo Dreams as well. Anyways, he was on SVU (the BEST L&O series) as twins. Twist was, he was playing brother-and-sister twins, which while very hard to believe when he was in sister form, was very impressive acting nonetheless (in the end, it turns out they're supposed to be identical boy-boy twins, but a botched circumcision became a sex change and by the end of the episode, they found out and she was a boy again). After I saw him in the dual-roles, I just thought to myself, "Yep, that kid's going places"numba1lostboy wrote:Escapay- I agree! I didn't see "Halloweentown High," but will do it soon since my brother has it on DVD. I was always a fan of the first two, but the first was my favorite. My brother said the third was decent. I thought it looked bad, but I'll have to see it before I judge. Who is Sara Paxton? I don't think I've ever heard of her. I'm starting to feel out of touch with Disney Channel since they pretty much have cancelled andything I liked and anything that's still on has changed so much (I don't like the new Raven with her working for the fashion lady). Anyways, I plan on watching the third film and DVR-ing the 4th. Maybe it will be good.
P.S: I heard they were making a 4th Zenon. Anyone know if this is true or just a rumor? I heard that like the 4the Halloweentown, they had recast Zenon and that Kirsten Storms would not return. For me, Zenon is Kirsten and I can't imagine anyone else playing her as well. The Zenon films were always my favorite DCOM's and I wish they would bring the trilogy to DVD.

That must have been one H-E-double-hockey-sticks of an episode lol...Escapay wrote:I think the most impressive I've seen of a Disney Channel to Law & Order actor was the kid from Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off, not the main character, but the best friend. Oy, Zenon was just too...smart-alecky for me. Never liked her. But if they do recast her for Zenon 4, it'd be an improvement. And Kirsten Storms is nowhere near a good actress. How she survived 5 years on Days of our Lives, and is now stinking up General Hospital is beyond me.goofystitch wrote:P.S: I heard they were making a 4th Zenon. See, I found the smart-aleck parts of the Zenon films to be it's charm. I liked all of that. I do agree that Kirsten Storms isn't the greatest actress. To tell you the truth, I've never seen her in anything but the Zenon series and her small roll in "Johnny Tsunami," another DCOM that I want to come to DVD. I have it on VHS. Anyways, I think I like her so much because I've always had a thing for her. I've never seen her play anything but a quirky teenager, but I feel she does it well. So does anyone know if they are making a 4th Zenon and if Kirsten Storms is in it? I'm also wondering if they will get Raven free from her busy schedule to play Nebula or will bring back the girl from the second. Or get a new girl. Or just not have Nebula in it since she was in the third for what, a minute?Oy, Zenon was just too...smart-alecky for me. Never liked her. Eh, I still don't know what to think about this movie, even with the new trailer.
To me, this movie seems to be just a little to corny and the new cast members seem a little unlikable. A lot of the colors stand out to much.
As far as the story goes, I sense a lot of plot holes comming our way. I mean, time travel is hard to do in film enough (Harry Potter 3 is a film that does it right), but when Disney Channel tries to do it, its kinda embarassing.
Oh well, I guess I'm gonna have to wait until I watch it (which is more of an honor than I gave The Cheetah Girls 2)
