thanks, appreciate it :)

after a bit of thinking last night, i might work out a way to secure the toys to the table while on show to prevent over eager hands from taking them down and damaging them. thought a loop of nylon around a foot and use a pin or something.

the only non-cannon toys are of course the cars hamm and pizza planet truck. figured they werent too far out and that kids likely wouldnt care or notice.

Some news guys: the Toy Story collection line has a new name. Its now called the Signature Collection.

see this post from pixar planet.
While I don't think it necessarily means that we are going to be getting new figures quite yet, I did happen to notice something very interesting at my local ToysRUs tonight. I was looking at the Toy Story section, and they still have plenty of Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and a few Bullseyes, but the Woody's that they had were different. They had recently sold through all of the Woody's that they had with the white logo about 2 weeks ago, and I was sad because I figured that they wouldn't be getting any more in.

Well, when I was there tonight, they had about 5 of them on the shelf, but they all had this new gold starry logo that said "Toy Story Signature Collection" on it. Now I already have Woody, but I've been looking at getting another to keep in the box, as well as some of the others, for when I have kids, and this new logo looks really spiffy and makes the item seem a little higher end to me, but cosmetics aside, that means 2 things. One, they're still shipping items from the TSC line to stores when replenishment orders are placed, and two, they have updated not only the logo, but the line name as well, so it could be an indication that they are looking at keeping the line fresh with the possibility of new additions.

The only online evidence I can find of this new packaging is this auction right here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BUCKET-O-SOLDIE ... 0747970766

I didn't check the Bucket at TRU to see if it was the new logo, so I'm not sure how widespread this is yet, but it's definitely an interesting new development to stimulate some discussion on this wonderful line of toys.
Also spotted in the wild, Utility Belt Buzz's with the new logo/name. They had stopped making these so its nice that their doing another run. Now those of us who missed the first run will get another chance without paying inflated ebay prices for it.

I noticed that the logo had changed last time I went to Toys R Us. Hopefully we'll get some new toys with this change :D

Zurg is finally here, with some caveats: its not officially part of the collection , nor was it ever rumored to be really, its not even from thinkway. But it is the first of its kind, a full scale and accurate version of him. Their also only being sold to our knowledge as a combo with a sub par Buzz Lightyear. I guess this is the only way they could rationalize releasing such a niche character that only had a quick cameo in the third movie, bundle it with a sure thing.

It also doesn't have Zurg vision, or nicities like individual finger articulation. And while it says the waist is fully articulated, I assume they just mean rotates, not that its not rubberized like the TSC buzz. But oh well, he's finally here, and looks very nice. I'm surprised they didn't compromise the scale at all, he's a whopping 15 inches. and apparently shoots balls. Hard to say if its anything like what was portrayed in the movie or some other type of gimmick, they don't really illustrate that very well.

Here's what they have listed as its features.

• Press button to hear Zurg phrases
• Eyes and mouth light up when Zurg talks
• Press button on ion blaster's backpack to send balls spinning
• Fully articulated neck, waist and arms
• Three wheels on base enable Zurg to move in any direction

No one seems to have it in hand just yet, but I'll keep a look out for reviews.

Too bad it doesn't have Zurg vision, but I HAVE to have this. I've wanted one since 1999 lol

Heres a pic of him next to TSC buzz.

Some aditional info.
- gun does not work/shoot
- gun non detachable
- hand sectioned into three parts consisting of 4 fingers, one finger (both being moveable) and the thumb
- voice sounds great (if I get some time I'll try to compile a list of spoken phrases)
- only a few minor quibbles, that are fixable, in my opinion

No difference in the toy itself, no. Just the packaging and probably the design of the Certificate of Authenticity.

So what's the story with Toy Story Collection Dolly, Buttercup, and Mr. Pricklepants? Were they ever released in stores or just online? I see them on eBay and I'm almost tempted to get them.. but they seem expensive. Does anyone here own them? Are they worth the money?

You should have taken advantage of that huge online sale they had, I cant remember how much off hand but they were heavily discounted at the time.

Gah I don't even remember hearing of such a sale... it's a shame. I'll probably end up getting them at SOME point though, they look pretty cool.

Anyway, I got Zurg last night :D I haven't really had a chance to fiddle around with it or even take it out of the box but it looks reallyyy cool. I'm so glad they finally made something like this. I've ALWAYS wanted one since 1999!

Now we just need a Prospector (voiced by Kelsey Grammer please :P )

Just a heads up, Zurg is now available to buy separately. Must be doing well.

I just got the combo pack version for Christmas.

Well there's another "if I had known, I would've waited" story :P I've got Zurg on display of course but the Buzz that came with it is just in a box now.

Although it is cool that he has karate chop action.

Bump..

I need some help with the Buzz Lightyear action figures.

I am trying to find this action figure. http://www.tesco.com/direct/toy-story-b ... d=755-7639

After some googling I found out that it's from the Toy Story Collection.

TESCO doesn't ship internationally though and I'm not even sure if they have the actual figure or they are selling another one with the wrong pictures.

Is this the same figure albeit in different packaging?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-12-Toy-St ... 4179042d25

Can the figure be found anymore or has it sold out? I'd prefer a shop from within the EU to avoid customs.
