Well, I think they both will be protagonists, but at the moment we're only hearing about Anna, maybe because she'll be the next addition to the Disney Princess franchise.jazzflower92 wrote:Why do I have a feeling that Anna will be a decoy protagonist with her sister taking the role of main character later in the story?
I wonder how will Disney take the marketing of Frozen, I'm sure Anna will be shadowed by the appealing design of Elsa (If she's at least as cool as the Rotoscopers described her)
The truth is Elsa has a more interesting story than Anna by the little we know, but it seems like a big part of the movie will be Anna and Kristoff traveling by icy lands searching for Elsa =/

Yeah the main theme really seems to be the sisters complex relation, their opposite looks and personnalities, their respective places they have to find in life, in world, in the kingdom. Elsa has power (technically) and powerS (magic), she is meant for a regal fate, but it's Anna's optimism and warm heart who lead the whole adventure and will save the day (and Elsa). Would it not be nice if she became the queen of the kingdom at the end ? Elsa could give her the crown as a reward for saving her...

Well, I think and the end of the film, Elsa deserve to be the Queen.
I mean, she's the oldest sister, sure she has been preparing her whole life to be the Queen (like Merida), and at the moment she's going to recieve the crown, her powers are discovered and everything gets messed up and she has to run away to stay far from people to avoid hurting anyone, thinking all about her is wrong (Meanwhile , the true villain is free of any guilt)
Poor little thing =( She has to be the Queen!!!

Hey guys! Morgan here with the Rotoscopers!
Thought I'd introduce myself since I'm just as interested in Frozen as everyone else here! Yay for Disney fans!
Sorry about the delay on the video. Gosh, we've had these photos since SEPTEMBER and we're not sure why we waited so long to talk about them.
We're thinking of doing another video, going a little more in depth about the story and such. Our source saw the video (and the questions we had about different characters, plot and such) and provided more info.
Would anyone be interested in that (I'm being a bit facetious here haha)? Or would that fall into spoiler territory that no one wants to hear?

If you would post it, type warning this link contains spoilers. Or if you post it here, when posting choose the fount color to be white, that way people would have to highlight it if they wanted to spoil themselves....a(nd no not that type of spoil...TheRotoscopers wrote:Hey guys! I don't mind. This thread was getting a little boring and the previous frozen thread was filled with off topic crap.TheRotoscopers wrote:Hey guys! Morgan here with the Rotoscopers!

btw you two are very pretty and beautiful.

But I do have a question concerning Elsa the Snow Queen.
How does the final one compares to these two concept art that was made when the Snow Queen movie was originally pitched in? Like what are the differences and such?

No prob. Ok, so Elsa looks NOTHING like that picture. Those old pictures make her look old (30s, 40s, IDK). The new Elsa looks very young to me, meaning early 20s. She is Elsa's sister so obviously face shape, eye size, etc. are more like Anna's. Seriously, she's amazing beautiful. If you look really closely, she even has cute little freckles like Anna or Rapunzel. The big eyeliner description is true. It looks like she has BIT, black, thick, winged-out liner. It's awesome. I'm not even kidding, to me, she's one of the prettiest Disney princesses. She's so glamorous compared to Anna.
And she's not wearing all those heavy furs and such. Bleh! Everything she's wearing is light and airy. She also has a huge train on her dress made up the sheer, snowflake fabric. Beautiful! Her dress underneath the sheer fabric is pleated too. Gosh, we didn't have a script and we just pushed play and started talking, so now I'm realizing all these things we forgot to say. :/
Also, Chelsea incorrectly described her neckline on the dress. It isn't high. Haha. It's actually a SUPER wide neckline that goes from shoulder to shoulder. Her shoulder are nearly entirely exposed. It's kind off sexy, but not in a vulgar way. Apparently the cold doesn't bother her.

I see. Thanks for confirmation. Those two sketches were the old concept from far back and we been wondering how current one compares to those two. Thanks for confirming how different it is. Can't wait to see them! Does Elsa have long hair? I forgot if you said that on the video or not. I ask this cause some while back, Sotris posted a storyboard art sketch from the movie which look like Elsa has short messy hair(like post-Rapunzel's).
I do like the two old concept too though. I dunno why. I just like it. But hopefully I'll like this new one too.
Also I dunno if you know but back in the the 50's, a snow Queen ride was going to be made and Marc Davis designed concept of Snow Queen for the ride:

I like those concept drawings. She looks like a cross between Cruella DeVil and Jadis, the White Witch. Very regal and elegant. The description of her new look sounds very nice as well. Also that concept art of the SQ by Marc Davis reminds me a lot of Tilda Swinton in Narnia, especially the blonde hair and ice crown.

Hi Morgan!!! Glad to see you around here!!! I'm Rodrigo (I emailed you asking for Elsa's information to draw a fan art)TheRotoscopers wrote:Hey guys! Morgan here with the Rotoscopers!

I have two last questions for you, if you don't mind =)
Does Elsa have jewelery???
Also, you mentioned the "icy incrustations in her hair" but, how is it like? Are there random ice pieces or are there a specific order??
Oh!! And that new video you're planning to do sounds great!! If it contains spoilers, just say it on the video description or something and that's it, it would be great to know more about the story! =D

I would be very interested in such information but would there be any chance of Disney taking issue with it?
Edited: Also, more Frozen info from Steve Hulett:
"A morning stroll through the Walt Disney Animation Studios on fabled Riverside Drive, handing out TAG Calendars and 401(k) books.
There's not much to report except that animators are now getting two sequences of Frozen to animate, and story tweaks continue.
"They're fine-tuning the first act, getting character relationships set up right and getting the characters as empathetic as possible. Acts two and three are pretty well together. They just want to make sure everytning is set up so that it pays off ...
I saw some rough animation on a "comedy relief" character who looks as though he's going to be hysterically funny. There's lot of work to do, and as one artist said to me, for they next nine or ten months everybody will be "very focused."
Nine month production schedules are good fun, aren't they?"

Surprised I managed to beat Sotiris to this, he was commenting on the article.

Yeah,I want to know more about Elsa because she seems like something out of Wicked. You know the more I read about this story its more like an adaption of Wicked with some charateristics of the Snow Queen. It seems like the Snow Queen has been in and out of production for years until Frozen came along. It makes me wonder how many different times the story as changed over time.RodryCroft wrote:Hi Morgan!!! I wonder, if BH6 is successful, will there be a Big Hero 6 2?
I wouldn't doubt if that was Disney's intention with using a Marvel property anyway, since Marvel films usually build a franchise.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"
A TV series on Disney XD could happen. A sequeal, unlikey. Big Hero 6 & Guardians of the Galaxy are the 2 new Marvel properties Disney is banking on in 2014. This year, they'll play it safe with sequeals to Iron Man & Thor.Disney's Divinity wrote:I wonder, if BH6 is successful, will there be a Big Hero 6 2?I wouldn't doubt if that was Disney's intention with using a Marvel property anyway, since Marvel films usually build a franchise.
