Wow that UK Jafar plush! I guess Disney CAN produce a Jafar-related piece of merchandise that is aesthetically pleasing! I'm still a little burnt by how ugly I found the classic doll to be. That plush looks great! I hope we get it in the US!

Well, personally, I love the Jafar doll. I thought it was hideous until I actually saw it in person. The stock photos made it look a lot worse than it was. For my money, it's the most accurate face sculpt of Jafar a toy has ever got. It actually gave him a sunken, long face with a corkscrew shaped beard. Honestly, the beard is the whole reason I bought the thing. I was so tickled by it, because nearly every other piece of Jafar merchandise (toys, figures, plushes) just put a little beard without the curls in it. The missing Cobra Staff and neck-cover were the only REAL complaints I had with it. I think the Maleficent doll is A LOT worse than the Jafar one, and has far more glaring issues. (I cannot for the life of me get my Maleficent doll to STAND. She has to be propped up. Her tiny little feet always cause her to just topple right over!) But even if he had been just as bad as I feared, I still would have bought him. I'm such a sucker for Jafar stuff. And that's why I am hopeful we'll get the Jafar plush here BEFORE Aladdin's actual Diamond Edition. We got the Ursula plush last year before it sold out.

And, yes, I've been waiting for the Funko figure of Jafar ever since I heard they were including him in Series 5. They were originally supposed to come out May 28 but got delayed a full month. I wish they had come out then, because I actually had money for them. Now I'll have to wait until I scrounge up enough to get two of 'em. (And the Gaston doll, too.) I really hope Funko will do a Frollo figure in the next Series. I've suggested it on their Facebook page in the past. I really think Frollo would lend himself well to the Funko design.

I think my biggest problem with the Jafar doll is how different it looks from the animated character. Sure the face is okay, but the costume appears to have been so lazily designed. In the case of the Maleficent doll, the costume is very different from the animated character, but it is at least nice to look at and gives a good impression of the overall character. The Jafar doll doesn't take any liberties with the costume, and hence it's just sort of...meh. The hat is also a poor effort. They couldn't put stuffing in the hat at all? It looks kind of like a night cap.

But hey, at least it's a Jafar doll! Any villain merchandise is good merchandise, right?

As for the Pops, I am very much looking forward to getting the Jafar Pop! I wouldn't hold my breath for a Frollo Pop (tough I'm sure it'd be AWESOME), but it could happen. I mean, we're getting a Rocketeer Pop and we've already got a Chernabog Pop, so really anything is possible! Internet rumblings seem to indicate that Disney Pop Series 6 will feature Lion King characters, so perhaps we'll get a Scar Pop? Other villains likely to happen include The Queen of Hearts (we've gotten several other Alice characters and Disney likes to promote her well enough), Lady Tremaine (they could pair her up in a series with the Fairy Godmother), mayyybe Gaston (we did just get a doll of him), and I would say Hades is slightly more possible than Frollo at this point. The Hag is also a possibility if they were to think of it, though I don't know how she'd look as a pop.

I'd say Dr. Facilier is the biggest possibility for a classic doll now. He is both a fairly popular villain, and Tiana and Naveen also have dolls.

For a long time I've wanted a big Cobra!Jafar figurine and any figurine of Cobra!Jafar didn't seem to exist. Today I found pictures and details of this on the web and I want it badly.

It's a wind-up water globe that plays "Arabian Nights" and a battery operated off/on switch (takes two AA batteries) makes Jafar's eyes glow. It's a foot tall, weighs six pounds, and was made by Wonderland Music Company, Inc. Aladdin's eyes are dorky lol. The amount of dust on this fantastic item in these photos is aggravating. It deserves to be polished to a shine!

What happened to Aladdin? :o

Still, easily fixed. Either by you or a professional.

Funny, you wanted a Cobra Jafar... and I long for a Genie Jafar. I too found the most amazing vinyl figure from Japan:

Someday...

Looks like they'll be releasing a deluxe limited-edition Ursula doll for the upcoming Little Mermaid Diamond Release kind of like the ones they've made for Lady Tremaine and Mother Gothel:

...It looks to me like they just took the old Disney Store doll of Ursula, re-painted it, gave it fancier (more Drag Queeny) hair and re-did the plush part of the body. I'm not really impressed. All of these dolls have been 'surprise' releases, as I'm sure you're all aware, and usually sell out online in minutes. The mark-up will probably be ridiculous and it doesn't look different enough (for me) to distinguish it from the cheap playline Ursula doll, so, I'm going to be skipping this. But, still. Thought others might interested.
