Except that he has plow through them quickly and can't spend too much time on each one exclusively. He going through 51 animated movies within the month of December.(hence the Disneycember title). Reviewing them, uploading the video sequences and then editing the video take assload of time.
For what's he doing, I'll say they are fairly good for what he has to work with with in time frame. Also I don't think Doug is 100% Disney hardcore crack fan like many of us here, so I don't hold it against him if he doesn't pick up something or find something in video that we would catch. For a casual Disney fan, I would say that his reviews are good and well summarized. I may not agree with everything he said (Aurora not pretty?? wtf?) but I do find them interesting and in a different perspective for me to look at.

You're too late. I know of at least 3 different Internet shows on TGWTG's channel that do review review shows like this.DancingCrab wrote:^ Hmmmm, there's an idea. I personally start any film, no matter how critically derided, with the hope of liking it. I try to look for what works, rather than what doesn't work. And I personally find nit-picking to be one of the worst forms of criticisms. But, that's just me. I have been accused of being too nice by people.slave2moonlight wrote:I think what bothers me a lot about critics, ESPECIALLY the new breed of online critics who play up the synicysm through synical characters, is that often they don't look for the positive aspects in a film, but rather get carried away with the negative.

Okay, maybe it's because I agree with them almost 100 percent (except that Citizen Kane is better than Raiders of the Lost Ark, even though I love Citizen Kane, ha), but I LOVED these three reviews! He does such a better job giving both sides of things when he likes a film rather than dislikes it. Maybe that's natural, but whatever. It makes for a better review when you can find something good to say about nearly anything. For example, Black Cauldron, there ARE things to like in that film. Maybe he genuinely didn't like any of them though (actually, I think he disliked a lot of the things I like about it), ha.
Anyways, really loved the Rescuers Down Under review, because while I think the original might be a little better than he gives it credit for, Down Under is totally amazing and underrated, and it definitely surpasses the first in my opinion. It's funny, I agree with him that the villain is great, yet I think I remember even the main animator for him saying she wasn't satisfied with the character in an interview.
The Beauty and the Beast review, man, ha, he summed up my feelings there. Though it's not my number one favorite for reasons outside of the overall movie quality itself, I totally feel the same about it just being "perfect". I also give him credit for finally referring to a toon as "Hot as Hell", ha. I feel strongly that he usually shies away from saying something like that in fear of bad reactions from people who find that sort of thing "weird", so I'm glad he made an exception this time. As for Prince Adam (it would be cool if he had time to research this stuff a bit more, just to share things with people like the Beast's offscreen name), I wish he'd explained why he thinks people have a problem with his appearance. I don't totally get it. Looks too much like Brendan Frasier or Fabio or something? I don't know. I think it's entirely just that people fell in love with the Beast and not the Prince. But, maybe they could have done something to make him look a bit more like Beast. Facial hair?
When I think these reviews are really gonna get interesting, if he gets that far, is with the post-Lion King stuff, as far as he's willing to go from there. Then again, he might NOT do those. But, jeez, that would be so interesting, especially if he got into stuff like Treasure Planet, Emperor's New Groove, Atlantis, Lilo and Stitch, Princess and the Frog. But, even Hunchback would be awesome to get his take on. Though, it seems like he won't have time to get to everything...
Incidentally, anyone know what other Disney stuff he has reviewed in the past? Besides DuckTales.

I really enjoyed the three latest reviews; it's always more insightful and thought-provoking when he goes into greater detail.
Even though you've probably outlined the reasons before...Lazario, why do you hate Beauty and the Beast? I don't think it's the best of the best, but its flaws are very few; the design is great, the characters are memorable and the songs are wonderful.

We know you hate it. Maybe it's time to accept the fact that people love it and move on.
I just got a bonus Christmas present.
You're giving yourself way too much credit here. You seemed on the verge of vomiting. I was merely stating you should move on for your own well being.
