Well, we've seen that storyboard, but I'm not quite certain it'll happen. It would be a good opportunity to show Eric and get a little idea of what Ariel and Eric did before their wedding, but I don't know if I would be competely satisfied. I really like the dream idea, also because we'll get to see more of Ariel's bedroom. I always liked those scenes in the TV series, so I'd like to see more of it.
I suppose it should be The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning, but I myself rather call it TLM:3. In the beginning I liked the name, but now, it just doesn't make sense. AB apparently won't show all of Ariel's childhood, so it wouldn't be her beginning. Ariel's Origin makes more sense, but it's not as good as a title. I don't know if they should have even mention Ariel's name in the title because it makes it sound a little cheesy.

I remember that someone on this forum said that they showed that Popeye had Aids in of the epiosdes.
Well, maybe it's just sense of humor but still I think it's very offensive.
Yeah, but Ariel's Beginning is the official name.
Yeah,I liked her bedroom and in the series but I think that the grotto is more her room.
I just noticed something:
In the series she has a bedroom,in this film she seems to sleep with her sisters
(It's a palace,they don't have enough rooms?
).
Also where's the room with the mirrors?.

Well, what I liked about the palace was that it was open. There were no doors to be seen of, and apparently commoners could swim right in. Sure, the mer-paparazzi must have been terrible, but what'cha gonna do?

Also, in the series she's sleeping in a normal bed and here she sleeps in a shell. And the serie is also set one year before the original.jeremy88 wrote:I think there pretty much scrapping the series...AB doesn't make sense with the series at all.Ariel'sprince wrote: But.. why she's sleeping with her sisters? in the series they had doors.
Mer-paparazzi?if the palace is open I wonder nobody tried to break in?
.
I guess the series is a sort of other universe, like Cinderella III.

I sure hope the current cover art ( as well as the horrible sword in the stone dvd cover)will change,
seeing that it is already posted on amazon.com I fear this is all were gonna get.
Yes, I know this seems like preliminary artwork, but still

Yeah (for exmaple-In the series we already knew how Flounder and Ariel first met, here it will be different),maybe in Whale Of A Tale she's 14 or 15 (since Save The Whales is a year after it).supertalies wrote:Also, in the series she's sleeping in a normal bed and here she sleeps in a shell. I also wonder about the bed and if she's sleeping with her sisters.
REINER-I think the final cover will be different (remember the early Cinderella III cover?),not sure about Sword In The Stone (that cover is ugly,it looks like a video cover from 100 years ago and from other country.

From Disney Central Plaza:
The new film introduces audiences to the very young Ariel who shares a love of music with her entire family, including her mother, Queen Athena. When the Queen is tragically lost to marauding pirates, King Triton, in grief, forever bans music beneath the seven seas. Little Ariel is left to grow up without love or music.
Fast forward ten years to the year before events in the original 'The Little Mermaid' and Ariel is a young exuberant, passionate teenager, full of life and love, but with a bit of a rebellious streak. With her mother gone forever and her father emotionally detached, something is missing in her life – until she discovers a secret music club run by her father’s Chief of Staff and closest confidante, Sebastian, the irrepressible calypso-singing Caribbean crab. Together they live a dangerous double life, dancing and singing in their electric club by night, by day evading Ariel’s watchful and opportunistic governess, Miss Marina Del Rey. Marina hates being governess, and really wants Sebastian’s job. She’s just waiting for him to make one mistake...

The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning
OMG! Talk about ruining the classics. It's obvious King Triton loves her in the original. I guess he didn't love her all the years before! This sequel's pretty awful, only the part about Ariel's mother is actually any good.Old Fish Tale wrote:Little Ariel is left to grow up without love or music.
Agree with you Ariel'sprince, it's so sad.

Well, the synopsis described Triton as "detached," which he is in the original to an extent (being the reason he thinks about the rule-breaking rather than the reasons for it first). And not showing your love is just as bad as not having it at all. That could explain why Ariel shows so much contempt for her father--you can equally love and hate someone. Yes, she made the deal with Ursula because she had feelings for Eric and because she wanted to explore the human world, but the hatred she had for her father and the desire to be free of him also drove her to that point. Which is why the deal ends in disaster--it was simply fueled out of resentment.
Ursula wanted power first and foremost. Advisor to the King would definitely be above governess. I doubt she considered being Queen when she was first in the royal court--that wouldn't come til later.Siren wrote:Doesn't sound like Ursula anymore. Ursula wanted to be queen, not royal adviser.

Listening to most often lately:
Christina Aguilera ~ "Cruz"
Sombr ~ "homewrecker"
Megan Moroney ~ "Beautiful Things"

Who knows??? may be when she gets to be royal adviser she's that much closer to taking over. Jafar could have been sultan, right?
he needed to marry the princess but even if he wasn't royalty he still was still a runner-up just by his position.
May be (being really hopeful for a good plot) Marina has really thought it through.
