I finally decided to order TSC Jessie from DisneyStore.com today. It was pricey with tax, but I am not going to use my debit card for at least two months (I will also try to put my next two paychecks into my checking account). I hope to get it real soon.

Woody, Buzz, and Jessie are 40 bucks right now at Toys R us.

Also, Bullseye is out.

(none of these pics are mine)

but watch out for horrible quality control.

This is an example of a perfect one.

heres one with an odd wrinkle.

And this is the worst one yet, for obvious reasons.

I'm going to try and see if my Toys R us has Jessie tomorrow before I see TS3. if they have Bullseye I might go with him instead.[/img]

Dang, that means I'm going to move with hardly any cash in pocket at all, because I've got to nab a Bullseye!

I'm not sure if I'm going to be buying Lotso right away >_> (spoilers in white: )

I didn't like his character in the movie, way too much of an asshole. If he had redeemed himself at the end then he would be a definite buy, but for now I'll probably wait for a price drop or something.
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

While I don't expect to ever see a price drop, I am holding out on him too, partly for that reason. It's not that I don't like collecting those kinds of characters (as you described), but I have little space and money right now, which is why I'm picking and choosing. Though, so far he is the only Toy Story Collection toy I am passing on for now.

Same here. I've got all of them so far, except for Bullseye which I hope to find soon!

Anyone seen Bullseye in person yet? I really wanted to check my Toys R Us today, but I didn't make it to the bank so there was no point, ha. I'll be checking next week though. I'm sure I'll check Monday, but it will probably be pointless, because if they had any this weekend, they'd have sold out by then (it's bad about that in my area). But if so, I'll check again before the week ends. I really need to get him next week, because I'm moving the week after...

The sad part is that this is the new character that Pixar pushed the most, especially in the form of merchandise.

My Toys R Us had every TSC toy except for Bullseye. Drat!! He's the only one I'm missing from the TSC line. Lotso actually is very cool in person. His smell is very overpowering lol.

It puzzles me why they pushed his merchandise so far. I'd feel okay with an Ursula or Jafar doll/action figure...but Lotso was just plain MEAN. I can't believe I bought him. I suspected he was the villain, but I did not expect to hate him so much. I think I only bought him because John and Unkrich were excited to see the plush.

It's just so weird. They were excited because it was their first teddy bear character, but still if he is really that bad of a character why did they push him as being part of the Toy Story gang? Not even Stinky Pete got that much attention. It's like if you put Darth Vader looking all happy with Luke and Leia beside him with a bright smile on their faces.

Worst of all, he is a walk-around character at the theme parks! I wonder if children will be mean to him once they see the film... Again, no one seems to have thought about this at all.

The thing with Lotso is... he is probaby the sickest, most twisted, most psychotic villain that Pixar has created. He's just all in all a horrible guy, and now I bet that most of the people who bought a Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear feel a little odd owning one. Who wants their kids playing with (or themselves want to play with) a psychotic Teddy Bear? Jeez, why not try to sell the Surveillance Monkey while you're at it? He'll be super-popular! Then again, at least he was redeemed at the end....

Yeah, I went to Target on friday (after I saw the movie at midnight... not RIGHT after, it was in the evening lol) and I saw this little girl picking up a TSC Lotso and checking it out and saying how cute it was and all I could think was "Boy, wait till she sees the movie!"

So, do you think Thinkway will make TSC versions of some of the newer characters? Disney Store has some nifty looking versions of Chunk and Twitch and such, but I'm not gonna fall into the same trap I did with Buzz and Jessie and pay a good amount of money for a character that's gonna have a beter version come out lol.

Not wanting to own lotso because he's the villain is just silly. I don't really want him because he's not accurate enough to me, but thats it. if it bothers you that much, think of it as being the other lotso.

But really though, hating a villian is just a sign of a great character.

Also, I would totally buy the monkey.

We aren't saying to not own the toy if you want it. What we are talking about is how weird it is that such a villainous character was pushed so far in the marketing department. You could say that its a brilliant move on Pixar's behalf, convincing people before the movie that he would be a great character only to trick them, giving Lotso that much impact. It just feels weird because the movie presents him in such a manner that the image sticks with you even after the movie is over.

Think of it this way. There are many Buzz Lightyears in both the movie and in the real world. Yet, I am sure the biggest reason people buy him in the real world is because they associate him with the main character. "Oh! That's Buzz! He flies!", people say. "He speaks spanish and does the helmet SWOOSH! thing!" other people comment. The Buzz we see on store shelves is that same Buzz from the movie.

So even if we try to convince ourselves that the Lotsos on store shelves are different Lotsos, the villainous Lotso image will come first, hence why the idea of owning such a deceivingly colorful character is weird.

Really, the marketing campaign was brilliant. That way, Lotso's betrayal feels more like a betrayal from a character that we've come to know and love, and it hurts more.

The Monkey's on Ebay right now although since he is an antique he's rather expensive.......here's some info on the history of this certain monkey that I posted in the main TS3 Thread

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=toy+mo ... 86.c0.m359

This was the creepy toy and actually he is based on a real toy from the sequels....the Monkey with cymballs..actual toy in real life.

Here's the history of the Creepy Monkey in real life

I'm not really surprised by them marketing the villain so much. Isn't it normal when a film comes out to market the villains too? I really just haven't been collecting villains as much because I'm short on space and cash at the moment, and I will be for a while. I have to limit my collections for now, and also have been trying to have fewer plush toys lately, so I'm sacrificing Lotso... for now. Someday I'll probably Ebay him. I do love his scent, and he'd be a cool one to keep in the box too, though I probably wouldn't (again, the Toy Story logo ruins the effect). I've been collecting 6 inch movie-based Marvel figures for a while as well (still have some catching up to do; need Daredevil, a couple more X-Men, Punisher, and Ghostrider), but I have avoided the villains so far since I'm low on space to display stuff.

Anyway, I went to Toys R Us Sunday since I had some errands to run in the area, but it didn't look like they had ever had any Bullseyes yet. I really hope mine gets some out on Wednesday. I'll check again then or Thursday, whenever I get a chance.

If you go to that site, there are good descriptions, and it says if it has the original voice or not. Jessie does have the original voice, Woody doesn't [Is it Tom Hanks' brother].

How come they don't just take them from the 3 movies anyway? Most of the lines are similar.

All of the talking ones say they have the original voice at the end except Woody and Rex, however Rex does have the movie voice.

Does anyone know if the Chunk, Sparks, and Twitch toys that are on that Thinkway link are in-scale with the Toy Story Collection toys?

And I'll probably get Lotso from Toys R Us. They're having a special at Toys R Us where if if you spend $25 or more on anything Toy Story you get a free 3D poster. Or if I don't get Lotso I'll get some LEGO sets or something. Or maybe they'll have Bullseye. (Wish they had this promo going on when I bought the Toy Story 3 game on friday! lol).
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.
