Well, was taking a tour of Best Buy thinking what one new DVD to get, and I was thinking about getting this piece of crap called "The Little Mermaid" or one of the greatest and most underrated masterpieces of the 21st century. As you can see, I went with the latter.

Doctor Who: Survival UK R2 2 Discs
This two disc set contains over 4 and a half hours of extras, for a story that has a run-time of 75 minutes. It must be said, the sections with the Master from the "Destiny Of The Doctors" CD-Rom game are totally bonkers and worthy of sitting with Superpup and The Brady Kids in my "What were they thinking?" collection.

Image
Life on Mars S2 UK R2 4 Discs
The final series. I was disappointed to see that this year's release doesn't contain commentaries (the 1st series had commentaries on every episode). I'm especially disappointed because the final episode, more than any other, was screaming for a commentary. That said, I was surprised to see the 'featurette' The Return of Life On Mars was over 45 minutes long, so I hope the similarly titled The End of Life On Mars is just as long and in-depth.

Pokemon Movie - Pokemon Ranger & The Temple of the Sea (Amazon.com Exclusive 3 Disk Set) US R1 3 Discs
I nabbed the 3 disc set, which includes the Pokemon Advanced Battles Vol 1 disc.

Monty Python's Flying Circus - The Complete Series AUS R4 7 Discs
Yes, all 45 episdoes on 7 discs. Share the highlights of Dinsdale! The Spanish Inquistion, The Dead Parrot, The Fish Slapping Dance and more. Ignore the crap bits. No Extras, but these discs include a new, remastered transfer.

In the world of Hi-Def I also added:
Children of Men HD DVD - (Replacement) Hopefully working this time!
The Good Shepheard HD DVD
Casino Royale Blu-Ray - Free PS3 giveaway
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Mythbusters Volume 19 (Volume 21 and any further volumes will have to wait until later in the year, due to the big DVD purchases in June and July)

I hope to purchase Volume 20 in a few weeks time.

BTW, who is your avatar, and what is he eating? I almost thought it was Tim Curry, but I don't think so...

Yes! And that the show whould be out in more than just Time Life discs.

Oh that’s James Spader as Boston Legal’s Alan Shore. Also he is eating a chocolate chip cookie (made by Betty White’s character Catherine Piper if memory serves).

On the HD front I got Monster House(Blue) and A Scanner Darkly (Red).

The Detectives S5 2 Discs R2 PAL
This comes on two discs (two DVD5s) so that the special episode can be slotted on. I thought that there were 6 series, but it appears that after checking just now, there was only 5. So this is the final release. I'm disappointed because we never got the Detectives sketchs from Canned Carrott that lead to this sit-com spin-off. I have a feeling I should think myself lucky we got the 1997 Christmas Special, because 2|entertain seem to have put little thought into all of the Detectives DVD releases.

Qi: A Quite Interesting Game R2 PAL
I bought this cheap and I'm a little disappointed with it. Its a DVD game and it works well enough, but it doesn't really have much imagination. I was expecting wrong answers to be marked with more than "Wrong" and obviously wrong answers to set off a klaxon. Still the questions and answers are, indeed, quite interesting.

The Catherine Tate Comic Relief Special
Like the Comic Relief Does Little Britain Live DVD released earlier this year, £3 of this £5 disc goes directly to Comic Relief. I'm so pleased I have this just for the Elaine Figgis/Daniel Craig sketch.

I have vol. 1 and 5, both of which had slipcovers, and then "Season 4" which I got for ~15? I think (pricing error...) I need to get the rest of them. Target has vols. 2-3 bundled together for $10, I think...

I FINALLY picked up a great little Disney Animated film, which I feel doesn't get the attention it deserves.

At Best Buy, for $9.99 (on sale this week), plus points on my Reward Zone card:

The Great Mouse Detective!

Image

I saw this on the Disney Channel a couple years back, and I fell in love with it. I had always wanted to pick it up, after that, but, the price in stores was too high, in my opinion. For $9.99, I couldn't pass it up!

On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate this show, Merman? I've never watched it, but I've contemplated buying the first season at Target since it's on sale for such a cheap price. After seeing Adam Brody's fantastic performance in In the Land of Women this weekend, I'd like to see more of his work.
