About two months ago I met Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb. They're the cohosts of X-Play, a show about video games on G4-TechTV. (I wish they hadn't merged...)

With the job that I have at the Hyatt Regency Hotel as a shuttle driver I get to pick up a lot of celebrities at the airport and bring them to the hotel. Sometimes in the Hotel van and sometimes in the Limousine. This past weekend we had the pleasure of having Harrison Ford in the Hotel for four days. I picked him up at the airport Thursday and then last night (Monday) I picked up Ric Ocasek, of the Cars.

Celebs that I have had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with include:

Dolly Parton
Gary Busey
Kevin Costner
Eddie Murphy
Cher
All five members of Rascal Flatts
Tom Scholz (Boston)
Pete Townshend
Roger Daltrey
John Entwistle
Dennis Quaid
Dakota Fanning and her little sister
Sammy Hagar (actually got to take him to a Sonic Drive-in for a hamburger, and he paid for mine)
Ric Ocasek (last night)
Kurt Russell
Goldie Hawn
Kate Hudson
Kim Fowley (produced The Runaways, all girl rock band)
Joan Jett
Reba McEntire
John Travlolta
Kirstie Alley
Jack Nicholson
Paul Newman (was his chauffeur for three years)
Robert Redford

and there are so many more, but those are the ones that stick out in my memory right now. With the job I currently have we have over 200 celebrity guests that come to our hotel regularly.

Met the Beach Boys and Dr. Ruth while working at the Saratoga Race Track (and saw Hillary Clinton from afar there too- I worked where the limos pulled up).

Also met Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins because I went to summer camp with Susan's daughter (same summer camp that Gwyenth Paltrow and her cousin Lisi went to).

Met Colin Farrell at a local bar where I went to college. He was there filming The New World (came out Friday).

And I met Marcia Cross (Melrose Place, Desperate Housewives) on a train from NYC to Albany in 2000. She sat down next to me and after a while I finally said "you know, you look familar" and she got embarassed and said that she had been on Melrose Place and I was like "oh! yeah! my mom used to watch that all the time!" She told me she had gone back to school for psychology or something and was taking a break from acting. She was really nice :)

I've met a few stars/guest actors from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. I went on a cruise last summer as a high school graduation present, and I found out they were hosting a SlayerCruise convention that had several stars from the shows on there. Being a fan of the show and not having enough money to actually attend the convention (it was around $600), I managed to meet:

- Amber Benson (Tara from BtVS)
- Andy Hallet (Lorne from Angel)
- Jonathan Woodward (guest-starred on both BtVS and Angel)
- James Leary (Clem from BtVS)
- Claire Kramer (Glory from BtVS)
- Iyari Limon (Kennedy from BtVS)
- Robia La Morte (Jenny Calendar from BtVS)

I had my pictures taken with all of them and got autographs from several of them. All of them were really nice, save for Andy Hallet (he was nice but was in a bit of a hurry to get to dinner). Amber Benson was the nicest one, as she was really sweet and appreciated the fan support.

I also met former president Jimmy Carter, but that was at a book signing of his first novel. (Well, my mom dragged me and my little brother to the signing, but still...)

I've met Thomas F. Wilson(most famous for playing "Biff" from Back to the Future) several times. In fact, his family is actually really good friends with my family.

I've also met Michael Gross(most famous for playing Steven Keaton on "Family Ties").

But aside from that, I haven't met anyone that was really famous. However if we were to list the celebrities we've seen from our own 2 eyes, my list would be larger as I've seen a bunch a celebrities from a distance.

I'm quite jealous of my Mom who has met a LOT of celebrities.

And to this day I'm VERY jealous of my cousin who met the "Tiggeriffic" Paul Winchell.

I just read through the last few pages, and I must say, I'm impressed.

I've met a lady at Disney World who was dressed as Cinderella, but I suppose that doesn't really count. Other than that, I've met a grand total of zero celebrities. But geez, Eddie Murphy, Paul Winchell, I'm jealous.

Here's some of my list:

Madonna-I won tickets for her Re-Invention Tour, through MTV. I got to take a friend, and we attended the first Vegas date. There was a group of around 40 people who won tickets through MTV. On our way to the "pit", we were taken into a guest room, and Madonna was standing there, drinking a bottle of water. She was talking to a lady who was standing next to her. We were taken into the room, and everyone was buzzing. We were told to line up along a wall. We all got to go up to Madonna, say "Hello", and shake her hand. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take photos, as we had to leave ALL cameras in a security area. We couldn't even take a damn slip of paper, because we couldn't have anything on the tour stage (which is where the MTV winners were placed, in the pit, on stage). So, needless to say, I didn't get my photo taken, nor get an autograph! At least I did get to say "Hello", and she said, "Thank you for coming.", and got to shake her hand! Plus, later, on the stage, as she was performing, she grabbed at our hands, and winked at me.

I am a HUGE Star Trek fan, and living in, and near Tulsa, Oklahoma, I've been fortunate to have a local comic book shop that has an annual Star Trek convention. I've met, and received autographs from so many, it is hard to keep track. I'll recall my most memorable:

John de Lancie, who played Q on various Star Trek shows. I met him during The Next Generation years. He was quite hilarious, and very gracious. He is a larger than life character, that's for sure.

Colm Meany, who played Miles O'Brien on various Star Trek series/films. Again, I met him during The Next Generation years. Very nice man, and he really enjoyed being on the show.

Gates McFadden, who played Dr. Beverly Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation, series and films. I met her right after the third season of The Next Generation. It was interesting to listen to her speak, and I got to ask her a question during the Q&A.

Marina Sirtis, who played Deanna Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation, series and films. Let me say, this woman is tiny. I was surprised how much smaller she is, in person. She is very funny, very smart, and very kind. I really enjoyed getting to chat with her, as I got her autograph.

George Takei, who played Mr. Sulu on Star Trek, series and films. After the Q&A session, he spent a great deal of time talking to the fans. He gave autographs, and spent a lot of time just chatting with everyone. My friend and I were last in line, and we actually spent around 15 minutes chatting with him. A very gentle, kind, and generous man.

I know there were several more people I met from the Star Trek conventions, but I can't remember them all.

I've also met Alfre Woodard. She's from Oklahoma, and I met her at a friends graduation. It's funny, because I was sitting there, with a couple of other friends. We were waiting for the ceremony to start, and all the sudden, something hit me on the side of my head. I turn to look, and there is a purse coming at my face. I look up, and say, "Hey", and this lady is turned around, talking to someone else. She hears me, and turns, and says, "Oh, honey, I'm so sorry!" I about jumped out of my seat, because I recognized her from Star Trek: First Contact. I said, "Oh my God, it's you!" She just laughed, and she sat next to me, and apologized several times for beating me in the head with her purse. She was very kind, and I felt so cool sitting next to a star at my friends graduation. I actually got her autograph on the Graduation program, and then accidentally trashed the thing, because I thought I had put the signed copy in my autograph drawer. A couple years later, when I moved, I went to pack my autograph drawer, and I go through the stuff, and I see the program. I go to find the page with her autograph, and realize that I put the wrong program in the drawer. KICKING MYSELF!

I know that there are more, but I'm tired, and I need to look for all my autographs that I've packed away.

I'm from Buffalo so this isn't a big celeb spot, hehe. Just a couple celeb spottings but never really met and talked to anyone. I have seen Chad Michael Murray since he's from Clarence which is a suburb here. I've also seen local American Idol contestant John Stevens at Applebee's & Pizza Hut. My ex-girlfriend & I were actually in our car about to leave Pizza Hut when he parked right in front of us. (His girlfriend is really short too, lol. There must be at least a foot of height difference between them.) I'm pretty sure that's it unfortunately. I would love to meet Jennifer Lopez & Kelly Clarkson one day. I've seen Kelly in concert at least but still hoping for a Jennifer Lopez tour someday.

Last night I met Moira Kelly (voice of Nala in TLK and star of "One Tree Hill") and Barbara Alyn Woods (another star of "One Tree Hill"). Both were very nice and generous with their time. I was able to chat with them for a while.

Kate Bush used to live in my road as a kid, but i always fancied her sister. I was an AA patrol (car breakdowns) years ago & met a few celebs, 1 was the curly haired fellah in Londons burning, itv's soap. Another was one of the ladies out of the carry on films, she had a beat up Morris Minor that she could not bear to part with. I also thought i was going to attend a breakdown at a pub, then realised it was not a pub but royalty, it was the Duchess of Kent, the kind of name an English pub would be called, but it was the real Duchess. There were others but i dont remember who as it was no more than part of the job.

I met Jennifer Love Hewitt in 2002. She was signing copies of her C.D. She is the smallest thing I have ever seen in my life...

I met Kirk Cameron at a conference, Christian recording artists Racheal Lampa and Rebecca St. James at the same conference, George W. Bush at the Texas Capital before he was president, Matthew McConaughey at a restaraunt (what a donkeybutt, by the way), David Carr in Toys R Us (he was Christmas shopping), Nolan Ryan because he's friends with my dad, and Hilary Duff because my friend is her cousin.

Oh, and the entire Astros Baseball Team on one of their picture days...but I figured that doesn't really count... :P
:pan: Love It.
