Ooooooooh maybe this is a sign that we'll be getting it in the US pretty soon. MAYBE it'll be on Blu too!!

Also, is there anyway possible that you could please just get a close up shot of TBC info??!! ....please!! :)

Oh, wow! But I don't think it'll be Blu-Ray. Disney isn't making Oliver & Company Blu, so that really lowers the chances on this.

Too bad I just bought this back in September.

I honestly DO hope it gets the Blu-ray treatment. The movie totally deserves it! And I hope that they're finally listening to the fans by making it uncut this time. If those two things don't come around.... I will NOT be a very happy camper. :x

Better start frowning...this is Disney we're dealing with, after all.

Well, as much as I do want to get my hopes up, I feel like I shouldn't. Because Disney is really REALLY starting to irritate me lately with their "special" re-releases.

Disney, if you're listening to this- which I hope you are-, you'd better give The Black Cauldron the release it actually deserves. Or else....

Or else they lose your $19.96. Oh God... they're going to implode!

I feel the same way you do, but Disney makes enough money to ignore us.

I'm a fan too, so to me, you come of as a little condescending... Maybe I read your post the wrong way, though... Just trying to have a nice discussion here. :)

Like Jessica Rabbit in Who framed Roger Rabbit...

I don't think there will be any need to 'double dip'. I don't expect any bonus features added. I will pick it up, though, because I don't own it already.

I wish we could get a close up pic of just The Black Cauldron ad. Maybe it says that it's a 2 disc edition.

(please let it also be Blu!)

I just hope if we in R1 get it, it doesn't have the cover art they show there. Yeech.

I know...it's icky. I think it's the same art they use for the menu on the R1 GC DVD we have out now.

I'm actually hoping the same thing you are. TBC deserves that kind of release. I really don't care if it's a non-Platinum title. I just really want to see it get released as a two-discer, let alone uncut and on Blu-ray!

It's also the original UK video release cover, and the French laserdisc if I'm not mistaken.

But yes a different cover would be nice. The original North American VHS cover is still good IMO.

Yes, I love the original R1 VHS cover art (as seen below). I only wish they would add a few fairfolk flying around the title logo.

IMO most of the VHS covers look amazing, I still like to keep them for that reason, no DVD cover stands a chance against any of the older VHS covers, search for the disney masterpiece VHS collection, and you'll know what I mean.

Yeah, that VHS cover really was quite excellent, easily one of the best VHS covers any of the DACs have seen. The holo-foil was a nice touch.

I mean, crap, the colors aren't even right in the above art...

I tried to get some information from Disney:
Hello.

A Thailand-based DVD distributor held a New Year's party and handed
out booklets that showed their 2009 Disney DVD release slate.

"The Black Cauldron" was listed in the book for a 2009 re-release:

Are you able to expand on this further at this time? What about a U.S. release?

Thank you,

Neal P.
Here was the answer:
We don't have any information on that title as of yet.

Their just saying what they've been told to say. Truth be known they probably don't know about any other release schedules except in the U.S., lol.
