Thank you very much SofaKing! Well, thank goodness this doesn't look like a complete disaster (though I'm still skeptical).

Umm....why is Lucas Grabeel credited first? Oh well. And Sara Paxton doesn't really look like Kimberly J Brown at all. I will always have that fact against the movie.

Okay, so I have to agree with the post above. I was really scared about seeing the trailer. Okay, okay... it was only 15 secs. long. But still... I can't say that I think it looks horrible. Here's my pros and cons:

Pros:
THEY FINALLY ARE BACK IN HALLOWEENTOWN!!!!! I was so mad at Halloweentown High for getting rid of my favorite quality of the films.

At least Debbie Reynolds is still in it (but look at cons).

Joey Zimmerman is back, and so is Judith Hoag. You have to give Disney Channel at least some nod for getting the same people over and over again.

And like said before, Return to Halloweentown is a good title. Way better than Witch U (that plain sucks).

Cons:
Sara Paxton as Marnie. I wish Kimberly J. Brown were back to reprise her role, then the trailer would have looked amazing. But... you have to admit, Sara dosn't look horrible. I've never seen her act, but the trailer doesn't seem to give me the notion that she sucks as an actress.

Okay, Debbie Reynolds made Halloweentown! She needs to be a main character. I know, for character development, Marnie has to go her own way eventually. But... I know that could have made a bigger role for Agatha Cromwell.

No Sophie. She was in Halloweentown High for about 5 seconds. Where is she now? She's apart of the family too.

Conclusion:
It's not going to be as good as the first or second Halloweentown movie. But... hey, I think it has the potential for being better than Halloweentown High. Even though that was apart of the trilogy, it lacked the magic that made me love the Halloweetown series. This film could win me back, with just the fact that we see Halloweentown again. I mean the first clip is of the town square! Truthfully, I need to see more than 15 secs. to made a descision. But... you never know, it could be good (and it could be bad). I'm crossing my fingers than Disney can pull this off.

P. S. Sofaking, I changed the post title for you.

No Kimberly J. Brown??? Only a cameo by Debbie Reynolds??? :o  I should have been reading this thread earlier.

Well the trailer isn't too revealing (thanks for posting it, though!)... it's exciting to have a new one, but I'm pretty disappointed by this news.

Okay, Does anyone know why Disney makes things difficult? I mean, I searched the internet for hours looking for anything "Return to Halloweentown" related and I couldn't find anything. Disney should have a site dedicated to DCOM's with updated news and information on all the movies. I mean, the list of DCOM's on Disney Channel.com isn't even updated. It only has Halloweentown High, not Halloweentown 1 or 2. And thats only a couple they are missing from the list. Plus, I think they should have the poster art always avalible. Okay, I'm ranting. But Disney Channel makes it so difficult to find news on upcoming projects.

Aw, how can you not like Debbie Reynolds!

I actually don't think the trailer looks halfbad. Not sure that I'm too comfortable admitting that, since this isn't a genre I'm normally very fond of. Not something I will actually plan to see, but if I happen to flicking channels and it pops up... I'm not gonna be the one to pass :)

Likely because he's the most recognizable on the Disney Channel as opposed to Paxton, and unfortunately, even Zimmerman. It's a great hook for kids who never saw the other Halloweentown movies. "Hey kids! If you liked High School Musical, you'll LOVE Return to Halloweentown! It's got Ryan!"

Thanks, Sofaking, for giving me all I need to see of this non-canon-in-my-mind Halloweentown movie. I guess I'll buy the first three on DVD and watch those in October instead of the new one.

I enjoyed the first and second one, but I don't remember seeing the third. Anyway, I don't know if I like the idea of them making a fourth one...especially without the original cast.

My granddaughter is a big fan of the first "Halloweentown", but the others just bore her to death. I let her watch this new trailer, and I think she nodded off during it. She said that she didn't know anyone in it, so she probably won't watch it.

I know I won't.

I'm gonna be optimistic with this movie. I mean, yeah, Disney normally dissapoints me. But for some reason, I see something in this movie. Besides High School Musical, the only DCOM's that have kept my attention are the Halloweentown movies. Call me dumb, but this could be good. I mean, look at it this way, at least they didn't take Halloweentown out of it like Halloweentown High.

Actually, it's more like..."Hey kids! Now that you've seen high school life, here's college life for you!"

OR

"Hey kids! We've shown Harry Potter enough times and it's not even our movie! Come see the Disney witch schools are like!"

I agree, the title is A LOT better. It's like how Return to Neverland is terrific because they didn't call it Peter Pan 2. If only they didn't change it to Bambi II, I would like it more.

Another thing...
I'm sad with a lot of people that Kimberly J Brown is not back for the 4th movie, but it seems like people think they flat out replaced her with Sara Paxton. What if Brown just didn't want to do a 4th movie?

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. I think its a real possibility that Disney tried to get Kimberly J. Brown to come back for the 4th. And Kimberly just realized that this film series has gotten a little out of hand. Maybe she was tired of playing the same part (not that she really does a lot of movies or anyting...). But you never know, maybe Disney was sick of her too. Sometimes actors can be a pain. I mean asking for more money, and wanting different things to happen. But, still, Disney got everyone together for Halloweentown High. But i don't know what happened.

We all just have to be optimistic...I mean look i LOVED the Halloweentown growing up...but when i saw halloweentown high i was sooooo dissapointed by the direction, Everything that made halloweentown exciting had been removed. Kimberly J. Brown was back for that one, but i was dissapointed that Luke wasnt, i always thought Luke and Marnie would get together...anyways that movie was really lame, AND i must say
Return To Halloweentown looks alot better than HTH even given sara paxton inclusion, who knows it may surprise us all, we just need to be optimistic.

Wow, if I remember Return to Halloweentown for anything, it will be for using YouTube for the first time. It's really cool, thanks for uploading it Adam. I liked the trailer, but unfortunately I can't say whether it's better or not than the other three, since I haven't seen any of them. I hope that it turns out good, for the sake of the trilogy. I'm sad that Marnie isn't in it anymore. I like consistency in movies/shows and replacing people just isn't cool in my books.

I want to see it! I still love Halloweentown and who's to say that Sara Paxton isn't just as good as Kimberly J. Brown?

I dont think that anyone here is bashing Sara Paxton's acting ability, I was just saying I don't like it when movies replace characters with different actors. I've never liked it. I am a huge freak for consistency. (Especially with DVD Packaging!)

Yeah, I like consistancy too. But I think I can let it slide if the actor or actress still conveys the spirit and character that he/she is portraying. I'm not really expecting much coming from the Disney Channel. But you never know, Sara Paxton might be a great Marnie.
