Noted, and today is the last day to make/revise <i>Eight Below</i> predictions. Wondering if I should raise/lower it. Perhaps I'll stick with my gut feeling - they tended to be more reliable than my revisions last year.

Eight Below: $36 million

like Ichabod I will probaply regret. No idea how this one isgonna do... I doubt it will be succesful because I don't see market for a film so cheesy and cliché. I know most Disney live action flicks are, but this one looks just way too cheesy...

Made note of all the predictions and now no more may come. Interesting how <i>Eight Below</i>'s average predicted gross jumped from $35.1 M to $37.6 M after today's shuffling. This is one of those live action pictures which is tough to read how audiences will respond. Reviews are good, cast seems tailored to a different demographic, and though the dogs are no doubt the prime attraction, they won't have comedic writing or voiceovers to back them up. We shall see if it does <i>Snow Dogs</i>-type numbers or more like <i>Ice Princess</i> basically after this weekend, though legs could make a difference.

After seeing what boxofficeguru said in the Sat. update, Eight below looks to be Disney's best so far this year. Fridays #'s put it in second with 5m going tword a 22-25m opening.

As long as it holds up as expected, it looks like most of us underestimated it.

yeah. woth the great reviews, it should create word of mouth and develop good legs. I think eventhough I upped it, I still underestimated it. Big time. I actually wanna see it now.

But did you all look at the 4-Day weekend total? BOM has it pegged at $25.0m as does Boxoffice Guru.

Wish I had changed mine as it will probably gross around 50-60 now.

I underestimated Eight Below big time. My thoughts were that many movie-goers would look at it as a Snow Dogs sequel or ripoff, but I'm glad its doing well. I haven't had a chance to get to too many movies lately, so maybe I'll try and get out to see this one.
