The Little Mermaid III Discussion Vol. 2
Weew! Thanks for posting that, Vermin Friends! I'm sooo glad that Marina has a song in this, unlike Morgana who didn't have one at all in TLM2! I thought that she wouldn't have a song in TLM3 but I'm glad that she does now.
And by the by, is that Sally Field singing for her? I'll be glad if that's her, too. Thanks again

Thanks, Vermin Friends! Great animation! Nowell Villano also worked in 'Bambi: The Great Prince of the Forest'! I can't wait!

I dunno, I have to agree with nachonaco...I'm hoping that she's Ursula in disguise since she does use magic. If you look on the official site, and at her facial movements, everything reminds me of Ursula and it's too coencidentle for Marina's color scheme to be purple when Ursula is also purple...ish. Just my two cents!
Well, right now, no one has proof either way if she is or isnt Ursula. So don't get too het up at Disney when this may not be the case at all !mooky_7_sa wrote:OK, this film already makes the TV show non-canon, but it will also make TLM 2 non-canon if Marina becomes Ursula.![]()
Disney, what are you thinking?
Thank you for the clip; it seems to be really great animation. I'm so happy about this ! Interesting the artist worked on Bambi II as well.
And happy birthday!

But that would be an even better reason for her to be Ursula!mooky_7_sa wrote:OK, this film already makes the TV show non-canon, but it will also make TLM 2 non-canon if Marina becomes Ursula.![]()
Not that this prequel will be entirely awesome, but at least it won't just take the original storyline and dress it in new and unflattering ways. Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing this. Not that we couldn't turn out to be wrong, but I seriously doubt it. The voice change of Triton is really the biggest clue that set me off. I seriously doubt Kenneth Mars would not do this film (when he's done the first sequel, House of Mouse and even Kingdom Hearts). I think Sally Field is just a way to cleverly disguise the character while also sounding similar enough to Pat Carrol to be an understandable former voice.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ "Elizabeth Taylor"
Katy Perry ~ "bandaid"
Meghan Trainor ~ "Still Don't Care"

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes, guys! lol And I'm glad you guys like the video, too! I love it!
As for the continuing discussion of Marina being Ursula, this could go three ways:
1) She's not Ursula at all, but just inspired by the character- as sort of a "final tribute" to the sea witch. Like how in TV shows based on movies, there's usually a character- usually a big villain, who is heavily based on a villain from the film. Besides, why would Marina change her name to Ursula? And if Marina turns into Ursula, how do we explain Morgana, who is an octopus (squid, whatever), whereas Marina is a mermaid?
2) She is Ursula, after all, Ursula talked about the days when she lived in the palace, she has two eels who resemble the eels that Marina released, and aside from her very (VERY) similar appearance, she also sings and practices magic.
3) We're never going to find out. It could be something like, Triton punishes her, or she escapes, or something, but we never find out what happens to her, where she goes, etc.
This film really has to end bittersweet if it ties into the original film at all. As many of you noted, Flounder has a big change in character, and if #1 or #3 (listed above) actually happens, it's definitely going to have a bittersweet end.
I think they should also include a scene where Ariel goes up to the surface, near the end. If not, then Triton should ban music and going to the surface- but only allow the former at the end of the film.
I'm pretty sure the YouTube account belongs to the animator. If you look at the name at the bottom left-hand corner of the video, and then check up on his account profile, it's the same. And, he has some previews of some of his other works, too.xxhplinkxx wrote:Oh man, that's awesome! I wonder how they got that.
