Pictures are from Toronto not Broadway rehearsals. You can tell as they still have the fake camels for the opening and there's a picture from Call Me a Princess.
Disney held off releasing a production photo of Jafar for so long (none were released for the 2011 production, just behind the scenes stuff) I thought they'd make more fuss but they just slipped these out end of last week.
I read that as well, but there was so much new stuff released yesterday that I still haven't read it all and haven't been able to find a source for it. Like you say, if it's true then it's a major change, easily the biggest Disney have ever done between previews and Broadway as it changes the entire structure of the show. I'm kinda torn between wanting to know and wanting it to be a surprise when I see the show next month so I'm going to have to be really careful doing the blog for the next few weeksrubyslippers wrote:According to someone on BroadwayWorld, they have removed Babkak, Omar and Kassim's role as narrator's throughout the show.I am stunned, seriously stunned! I did not expect such a big change, especially with Disney Theatrical's tendency to only touch the surface of shows with changes before they premiere.
It's true. Casey Nicholaw (the director/choreographer) said so in this interview during press day.ChrisLyne wrote:I read that as well, but there was so much new stuff released yesterday that I still haven't read it all and haven't been able to find a source for it.
