I would approve of a Hamm like that as well. Though, the only lame thing is now he will be the only major character who DOESN'T talk, ha. Kind of ironic that he would be the toy that comes out silent, since John Ratzenberger's (sp?) voice has been included in all the PIXAR movies so far...

I'd settle for a film-accurate Hamm, with maybe a feature where if you put coins in he'd say a phrase or something.

Shame on retailers though, how could anyone not love Hamm? :(
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

I think its more about not believing he would be a big seller than not liking him. Even I don't think he would sell as many as most other characters. The rest of them are toys to be played with, they have clear features with bullet points to market with. but Hamm is nothing but a bank. you can technically play with him in Andy fashion, but its meant to sit on a shelf and store coins. there are other hunks of plastic in this line, but their smaller and therefore cheaper produce, plus already have mass appeal.

Heck even most of my local stores dont seem to carry the Toy Story colleciton. I think they think their all too expensive to your average customer.

The answer would be to simply not package him alone. Perhaps with Wheezy?

Sorry but packing Hamm with someone like Wheezy makes no sense to me. their two completely unrelated characters. its not even like their both small either. Wheezy and Lenny would make a more reasonable combo pack than with Hamm...

And what makes you think thier wont be a prospector? Patience. I think it'll happen. if nothing is anounced by the time TS3 hits blu ray, then you might be on to something.

Ha, they're not "unrelated", they're both Toy Story toys. Take a look at two packs of toys in general. Being in the same film is all the relation you need. They're both Andy's Room toys. There's another connection. They both would probably just be non-electronic, hard plastic in this line, that's a crucial connection...

Sorry, but I'd need a better connection than that to justify it. like Bo peep and her sheep, the 3 aliens, Woody and Buzz. Hamm and Wheezy haven't even talked to each other. the only way they would sell together is in a buddy pack, as in the ones Mattel puts out, the really little ones. they wouldn't package one deluxe replica with another.

I know... I think what I should've said was "shame on consumers for not wanting to pay big bucks for Hamm"

Why not? The people who would buy a replica Hamm are the same people who would buy a replica Wheezer. Makes perfect sense. They could amp up the price, which would be the whole point. That's why we had to get 3 aliens when most of us would have been satisfied with one. And, of course, for the folks only interested in one or the other, this way the set has appeal for both types, another point of releasing multi-packs.

This is probably just going to be something we'll have to agree to disagree on, but I just don't think it makes any marketing sense to pair these two in particular together in something that isn't a cheap playset of sorts.

I dont think we'll see either of those, but your guess is as good as mine.

And yes Bo Peep is in TS3, barely, from what I understand. Im not sure we'll even hear her talk.

I think a Toy Story Collection Mrs. Potato Head would make sense.

I mean, all ya gotta do is change some of the pieces and have her voice actress do some new lines.

And with my super crappy ms paint, to show how very accurate a simple eye and feet fix would make mr. p look so much better

Also, for Mr. P's arms, a "quick swap" with the 80's Mr. P arms (they're secured to the body, but likely would be in scale to one another, and are wired rubber as oppsed to fixed rigid plastic)

(I know this post is more OT than not, but it may provide info for those hating the TS Collection arms)

I think I had the old Slinky Dog, or i saw it.

Anyway, Buzz crash landed on my porch by mistake yesterday, and I can barely get over him. The "talk back" feature is really cool, though I wish they included "Karate Chop Action". everything else-except the "secret message" line from the movie-is intact. His limbs could be more flexible, but he's near perfect as is. :D

I emailed Thinkway yesterday, asking if "Hamm" was coming, this one pictured with the rest:

Hi Tyler,

Thank you for supporting us. At this point, we have no plan to produce the “Hamm”.

Hopefully, with increased sales as TS3 inches closer, will have them re-think Hamm. Until then, he's not coming.
